Looks similar to Jazz mentalism, Symbologic, etc, but with an extra phase and using playing cards.

Last Laugh, thanks. I knew it looked familiar, but couldn't place it. I have a Jonathan Tremaine video on close-up mentalism, and he does a version of Symbologic called Extra Sensory Perception. He does not credit Hen Fetsch.

It is a terrific effect. I like Patrick's teaching this effect without the need of using m....d cards. You can even use a borrowed deck of cards. There are two live performances and he teaches the effect thoroughly in his usual calm manner. Hihgly recommended especially for the price.

So if they stop you after just one, two or even three cards, you barely have a final phase. Am I wrong?

Patrick discusses that issue and what to do so that the effect is extended.

A very old principle, and still very effective. I like it Smile

Most of the tricks I know which are using this principle are using a special m... deck or a DB card so it's nice to see a full routine using regular borrowed deck.

Fairly easy, technically speaking, but it needs to be done casually, which may require a very little bit of work.

It's not a rehash if it's gimmick less with an extra phase...

In the Tremaine effect, you don't need certain cards, but you do need to prepare one. So, it is nice that Patrick's version can be done with a borrowed deck. Always liked his thinking.

I know, but I don't necessarily consider this a gimmick.
