That massive stitched on logo is just bizarre. It brings far too much attention to the wallet imho. Much better to be plain like the SUC or SAW. Inconspicuous is the way to go.

I guess some of us are more bizarre than others.. Whilst the rest are just plain 😜

Blink – Looch

Product description : peek cases, peek cases all over ! No, I’m joking, I haven’t seen many released this year, and I’m quite a fan of Looch work. I think the tool you’re using is not the most important part of the whole thing but without it (whether it’s a CT, an impression device, a SUC etc..) you can’t do much. Here, Blink is a peek business card holder, which you can show from all side. The idea behind it is quite brilliant because it gives you the freedom to perform whichever routine you want with it. However, it’s quite pricy, so would this be perfect in your mentalism arsenal ? Let’s find out !

Price and where to buy it : This is sold at £100 and you can find it on Looch’s website : https://www.readmymind.co.uk/blink-the-r......ek-case/

What you get : you get a very nice packaging, a little cardboard box, with inside a link in order to watch the explanation video. Even if you don’t speak English, I think the video is good enough for you to understand how to use Blink just by watching Looch handling it. You get many ways to perform the peek but I’m sure you’ll come up with your own routines and handlings. One amazing thing about this is the Facebook page, many people are posting their peeks, and some are just brilliant. The business card holder is made out of nice leather, and will last a long time if you take care of it. You have to “train” the gimmick so it will become softer and easier to use over time. Overall, it’s something which is not cheap but you understand why when you receive it. Quality speaking, it’s amazing. The peek handlings, they’re amazing. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with it.

Teaser : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfsUOgC5viM

The pros and the cons : Here is the core of my review, let's begin with the cons, as I will usually be doing, I prefer to keep the good things for the end.

THE CONS :
- You noticed it if you watch the trailer, there is a round piece of leather on one side of the holder. I think it may looks odd to some people.

THE PROS :
- You can show the wallet from all sides, there is nothing to see. It may not seems much but the extra freedom during the routine can change a lot the way you present your routine.
- You get a full and clear peek, no mirror or shinning surface so you can easily peek words, numbers, drawing.
- As I said, there are people who post a lot on the Facebook page, and they have amazing ideas with Blink. The sentence “the only limit is your imagination” is quite true with this tool, for example, the peek when you recap your Sharpie is simply incredible.
- It can carry multiple business card, or even credit card, so you can use it on a daily basis. Having it in your pocket will “wear” the leather to give it a more used look which I like a lot.
- You can decide when you want to have the peek, so you can structure your routine and adjust the timing of the peek.

Overall rating : I can easily say that this is one of the best peek I own, the method is ingenious, the case is made out of high quality material, I don’t think you can go wrong with Blink if you like what you saw on the trailer, 4/4 hearts.

As for the difficulty level, the most complex thing in this kind of routine is the way you present it. The peeks are easy to do but need work in order to do them right so it will fly by your spectators. As most mentalism tools, it requires time and presentation, but it’s well worth it, 3/5 stars.

Similar products : SUC by Mark Strivings is one of the most low tech option but still one of the most efficient in my mind. You can check the telethought wallet too, it’s a nice little tool.

Lucky someone finally mentioned the logo, tbh I'm surprised it hasn't been bought up and extensively discussed already.

We tried, the manufacturers couldn't help us facilitate this unfortunately.

I have been using Blink regularly for about 2 months now. It is a first rate item and definitely a worker! I know we normally use peek devices for peeking something that the spectator has written or drawn but the other night I did something different. I am a big fan of decks with jumbo indices and I used one of these with Blink. Basically, the spectator had a free choice of card which was then placed into the 'wallet'. With Jumbo indices you get the complete value of the card in the centre of the card and Blink gives you a 100% peek of everything you need to see. 🙂 Reveal as you wish.

That's all folks!

Thanks Bob, much appreciated you leaving your thoughts, initially missed them 🙂 Really glad you are enjoying using BLINK!

Could this break? Via either wear and tear or through forcing the action a bit too much?

I doubt it. Wear and tear would be no more of a concern than with other wallets probably

Whew! That was a lot to go through. Is it fair to say Blink is a step up from the Informant? My informant hasn't fared well with use, making the mechanics shotty. Also, found the actual work a bit clunky and cumbersome as my hands are pretty beat up. To be fair, I use IMP's 90% of the time, but always have a p**k device handy. WOuld this blow my Informant out of the water?

Hi Bloodkin

Although I won't compare BLINK ago other creators works I certainly will be able to answer any questions you have about BLINK. In my view (which of course is biased) BLINK is the Gamechanger for Peek wallets. It's a brand new method that takes a few hours practice but then you'll have it as smooth as butter. It allows a instant access Peek that is under your control all the time. That means you choose the exact moment you want to access it and Peek. It's done within the blink of an eye and afterwards there's nothing to see. You won't have to hold the case unnaturally (avoiding flashing because there's nothing to Flash) you can handle it completely naturally.

For completeness here's a snapshot of what pro's are saying:

"BLINK IS DEFINITELY ONE OF THE BEST PEEK WALLETS EVER CREATED AND CERTAINLY ONE OF THE TOP MENTALIST'S PRODUCTS OF THE YEAR."

JHEFF

“BLINK IS AN INGENIOUS, REFINED AND HIGHLY PRACTICAL ADDITION TO THE ARSENAL OF THE MODERN PERFORMER. RECOMMENDED!”

JERMAY

"THE SECRET IS TOTALLY NEW AND ALLOWS YOU TO GET YOUR PEEK, IN A "BLINK!" AS SOON AS THAT BLINK IS OVER, THE WALLET IS BACK TO NORMAL. YOU CAN ACTUALLY GET YOUR PEEK AS YOU PLACE THE WALLET INTO YOUR SPECTATOR'S HANDS! LOOCH HAS A REPUTATION FOR PUTTING OUT HIGH-QUALITY PRODUCTS. THIS MAY BE HIS BEST ONE YET."

RICHARD OSTERLIND

"I WAS FOOLED. TWICE. BLINK IS VERY CLEVER EASY TO USE. THIS IS A 1A PRODUCT!"

LIOR MANOR

"THE VERY BEST PEEK CASE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY HANDS!"

RUDOLF KUNZLI

"I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO GET ONE SINCE I SAW THE PROTOTYPE IN JANUARY. TODAY IT ARRIVED, I LOVE IT!"

JON STETSON

That's a pretty amazing group of people who know their stuff! I'm quietly confident BLINK will be your peek case of choice going forward.

Many thanks

Very unlikely, I can't see how someone could break it, unless they were deliberately trying to. (And then it would have to be pretty severe psychotic treatment) 🤣

It's fun!

Really happy that you are enjoying BLINK mate. Are you on the FB Group? If so would you discuss the other usage you've found with owners please?

Thx Looch, I haven't checked out the fb group yet, but plan too.
Sorry, my poor punctuation/choppy writing style, confused what I meant to convey.
I was trying to say Blink is fun to use.
That was the "plus one more".

Late night confusing post, followed by an early morning (confusing) post lol.

I must disagree, and point out that this is magician-think at its finest. Performers who work in the real world will step up and point out that the "brand" on the wallet will have no effect other than simply a decorative patch to the muggles. Lets face it: Blink is an awesome tool, and the only ones criticizing it are the magicians who are nervous about it. Remember the magician who wore a kelly-green thumb tip on the Tonight Show? No one noticed. No one. Including a great number of fellow magicians! So, unless your audience says something about it, just accept the fact that it is a fabulous tool, and get one!
