Ok Danny, I’ll leave you with a message I received today from a REAL person about this thread:

“Why are Mindpro and Danny always so critical? They seem to enjoy antagonizing anyone that doesn't agree 100% with them.”

It's not just me Danny, this is how many on here see you. Both of you could help many if you would only try and stop the BS.

Lol... boy these threads are wearying! I just started reading as this will be my 9th year performing at the LA County Fair which is reportedly the largest county fair in the world so I thought it had something to do with that. lol... Of course I was wrong but got lured into the drama! In spite of that, I'm always amazed at the wisdom and valuable information Mindpro and Danny impart on here. It is a great resource that should never be taken for granted.

Oh they both do have a lot to offer, I completely agree, just a shame we all have to to wade through their BS to find it.

Well s REAL person just posted Tom so please keep your imaginary friends thoughts to yourself.

One person's bs is another's reality check. I'm so sorry reality bothers you so much.

Ray is only another guy out there doing it regularly for decades. So why bother to consider his position?

Danny I would never publish a name form a message, however the mod’s here are welcome to check and if I’m lying they can delete the post.

But I will stop now, with my apologies to Doug for getting dragged into being a part of ruining his thread.

Take Care

Danny it seems you know very little about the outside world, you have probably been sitting on the couch a little too long.

The average person knows nothing about magic; they believe a magician is a ‘magician’ and can do just about anything any other magician could do or at least know how it works. Why wouldn’t they, after all they all are sort of weird people that studied from the same book.

Nope there are not a lot of magicians out there in the real world for the average person to talk too. People in many places will only know two magicians the local guy and that Copperfield fellow on TV. If the local guy is not dressed up like a clown then yes he is the real deal.

I’m sure Doug can handle the job,

but if not there are plenty here ready willing and able to help him. Huh?

Tom

When was your last paid professional show? I've been on the couch? Hilarious. You have never been in the game yet you know everything about everything. That is why magic is such a joke to people.

Who here is able to help Doug? You?

Hey I don't have a dog in the fight. But if prepared is what you think you were for this conference I'd think about your definition of that word.

It is not only knowing principals of illusions. It is lighting, blocking, getting them on and off, writing them to make sense and so much more. The fact that they don't have a huge budget is going to mean you need to bring more to the table, not less. Expectations will be higher.

The only caveat would be if you have told him you never done anything like this before, but want to try. Are you at least being that honest with him? Because if you are then they know what they are getting. If not then it does seem a bit disingenuous wouldn't you say? If rolls were reversed would you want to know?

Yes. He knows exactly where I stand as far as illusion experience. I made that clear from the first conversation with him. I was honest, and did not deceive him in any way. So he knows exactly what he's getting.

We talked and we may limit it to making things float across stage or black-art principal effects. We can easily get some velour and black costumes. Whatever works for what we decide to do.

And there is a possibility we may limit the magic/ illusions to a dream sequence in the play. We'll just take it one step at at time and work things out.

It'll be fine. I'll not bite off more than I can proverbially chew. If I can't handle it as far as an idea we want to try, I'll let him know, and we'll go with a plan B. Everything will work out.

Dude if he knows upfront that this is just something you are trying for the first tint and he is good with it then cool.

This is as honest as you can be with someone so good on ya.

That's my terms with him. I'll be honest and upfront from the get go and not mislead him. It's the way I like to conduct business. It will be a learning experience.
