I'd say that 25-50% of the time spectators comment about the fact that the ace of diamonds is signed when I first put it on the table ... to that I simply say without paying much attention : "Yes, sometimes I have cards signed" ... and I continue with the patter. They don't always talk about it (when I put it on the table) but they always remember it (which is the most important part) when it comes out of the pocket because this is always the last ace to vanish so they have it in front of their eyes until the very end. The vast majority of the time someone mention it when it comes out of the pocket at the end. What I like the most is when someone say when the first ace come out : "Nooo ... don't tell me that the signed ace will be there" ... and when it come out they usually react very strongly. Have fun with this routine and let me know if I can be of any help. Peace Jack |

But, during my years of table hopping and strolling, I had so many signed cards in a deck after a couple hours, people just got used to it. Add in the fact that "zero" attention is paid to it by the performer, I think it will go over just fine. Even if someone were to notice and ask "Why" it was signed, it is easily explained away.

I remember seeing David Copperfield perform this on one of his TV specials, and being blown away by it.
I've actually never performed it on anybody, despite now knowing several different versions of it though. I definitely like this performance though, and the subtleties of things like the signature on the one. Adding to wishlist... |

Mine is totally practical for real world performances and his was more suited for a tv appearance where angles can be controlled. I totally agree with you on the fact that it was mind blowing ! You mention one subtlety that "pretty much remove all doubt that the cards were anything other than what they were presented to be" ... I'm sure that you're talking about the signature, but there is 1 more subtlety that contribute to that too : The fact that the spectators can "point" to any packet. Because of the easy psychological force used, the leader packet is chosen 80% of the time. To them, it really means that it would have worked with any packet, so it eliminate the thoughts that "special" cards were used. As explained in the instructions, if the leader packet is not chosen it's no big deal at all ... there is enough subtleties in there to really hit them hard anyway. Let me know how it goes when you'll try it in front of an audience ... hope to hear from you soon. Jack |

And I'm guessing you misunderstood me because I never said it would be a problem nor very difficult to explain to spectators why there are signed cards in your deck. I simply said that it'd probably be a little weird to them that there is only one signed card in your deck and you happen to be using it for your one effect. Adding a few additional signed cards in the deck is not running when not being chased, it's taking care of the smaller details. |

As I told you I really have more than one signed card in my Ultimate aces Unleashed deck, it's just a matter of circonstances that they don't show on the demo, they were simply further down. I've been performing this as a walk around trick for a long time. It need a little reset but it's well worth it. I usually have 2 decks set-up and ready to go. Since I have a pretty large repertoire, I rarely perform this more than twice a night so it's all good. Jack |

The reset is fast and easy so it's no problem at all. I always perform my strolling magic using the same table as the one on the demo. I never encounter a single venue where I was not able to perform it to be honest, I always work with this little table. If someone don't use a table, I understand that sometimes it can become hard to find the right space to perform it. Jack |

Here's to hoping for some good stuff! |

Your English is very clear in my opinion. I understood everything (including subtleties) that you were presenting. I could even tell where emphasis was placed also. Well done, especially in that respect. I have always been amazed how different cultures seem to go out of the way to learn English but many
"English speaking natives" know less about the language than a lot of "Non-English speaking natives" plus so few go out of their way to learn any other language. But, enough on that. I don't think anyone will have any issues understanding the teaching of the effect.

We make effects our own when practicing, and Jack's personality is evident in this version, that's mirrored by how ubiquitous and polite he is on this thread.
I purchased this last month soon as it became available and have been performing it regularly now. 'Magicians think' is often a factor with Mac's Aces, we also know subtleties are everything in card effects, this version certainly help ease it if you allow it to. We analyze these things to death and of course, subjective opinions are important, but this just works. Spectators "Don't know that they don't know" we should enjoy that fact far more than we do. As the late great Daryl once said: "Just do it" ... Cheers. |

I noticed this is an instant download, but there was also some mention of requiring a gimmick/gaff. I might already own this gimmick, but just want to clarify if there is anything needed to be purchased, or any construction, for those who might not already own it.
Thanks, great effect! |

I've been performing this exact version (it evolved a lot in the last 10 years) since 2016 and trust me, it hits hard and it's a real crowd pleaser. I have a very diversified/road tested repertoire and this is the thing that I do that get the strongest reactions ! Let me know if I can be of any help and have fun with it my friend. Jack |

Very pleased with this download. Jack Poulin shares some really nice touches and subtleties for the MacDonald's Aces routine. He says in the video that he spent years coming up with these little handling tweaks, based on thousands of performances, and it shows, IMO.
