Happy Independence Day to you too Bill.
It seems to have a weird kind of significance this year for some reason. Maybe it's just me.

It's not like that. I've been doing a lot of reflecting for a long time, and I think what it's coming down to is that everyone is as independent as they decide to be. We all have the absolute authority to rule our own mind.
The weird significance is that I'm more and more aware of it.

The unjustly incarcerated prisoner decides whether or not the situation will define them. The slave, abducted by force and manipulated by violence, can still decide whether or not to internalize and accept it. Bear in mind I'm speaking as an American, so I'm fortunate to live in a country where I have the freedom to think such arrogant thoughts.
