It's best to PM members because they don't always read or check "The Little Darlings"
I just happened to check it today. Thanks, Ricky but I'm good. I have too many buckets already. But I would be interested in seeing pictures of it or hear the loudness of the coin drop.

Ricky and wonderful company,
When you do a sponge ball/Misers Dream presentation, is that the only sponge ball routine in the show? I ask because I perform the MD and a sponge ball routine, and I love this idea with the bag and squeaker. I can’t believe I’ve never seen it But I’d hate to use it IN PLACE OF the classic climax of a spectator opening her hand to an explosion of sponges. I’m wondering if any of you combine a sponge ball MD and with a sponge ball routine—the in-the-spectators-hand sort of routine? Thanks to all! |

Frankie, I suggest keep using sponge balls for the Misers Dream. You might want to replace the sponge ball routine with sponge rabbits. You might also want to change the color of the sponge balls so they do not match the color of the rabbits.

Thanks guys! I was referring to the routine Ricky mentioned, Joaquin. I’ve always performed the sponge balls in a spectators hand. Lots of fun, but pretty standard. I’ve actually never seen a “misers Dream” with sponge balls. I’d love to see it, even just small clip. Currently, I follow up my sponge ball routine (about a 15-ball hand explosion) with a comment like, “I wonder if the bday boy could do that with money”? Then I start the MD. It’d be interesting to see a combo

I was telling Frankie to use rabbits for whatever sponge ball routine he uses. And use the balls only for the Misers Dream. That way he will not have to use sponge balls with two routines in his act. |

Barry Mitchell has several routines with sponge balls that appear, one after another. Which fits the topic of Miser's Dream (and frankieacemagic's inquiry about performance videos).
Some routines feature sponge balls, some feature sponge stars, some feature sponge hearts, etc. SmileMaker (and the variations -- Star Maker, Clown Maker, Slime Maker, PumpkinMaker), Bucket Full, Great Green Growing Machine, etc. Do a search on his site with keyword "sponge", and you can see the products along with demo videos. https://barrymitchellproducts.com/ -Donald

Recently, I made up a sponge rabbit routine using a small white sponge bunny. The routine is the same, I produce the bunny from the children ears tossed them in a black gift bag and at the end the children would guess how many bunnies are in the bag. I turn the bag upside down and say " only one" I then pull out a large 8 inch white sponge bunny.
I started out using the brown kraft bag from the red sponge ball set up, but I changed over to a black gift bag to have a contrast with the white bunny Tricky Ricky |

And the Bell Bucket is pretty much indestructible. Got the one I use many years ago at Tannen's Magic Shop in NYC. For Sale here: http://www.magicinc.net/bellbucket.aspx Not sure but these new ones look a little different. Does anybody have one of these from magic Inc.? And do you care to comment on it?

Can someone please help me learn how to drop the coins in the bucket? I spent 2 months and am now really good at palming, but when I try to drop the coins in the bucket, either more than 1 coins drops at a time or I am not able to drop the coin when I want. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If you mistakenly drop two at a time together, the audience will not know. You might want to try using dollar size coins. That is what I use. The more diameter allows you to separate them more before releasing one. Try using lotion to see if it will give you a better grip. |

Try using your fingers to inch the coin out of the stack and to your finger tips. Then you release it right from the tips..

To help the coins drop, make sure they are spread such that the "top coin" is against your finger tips and the "bottom coin" is against the bucket. In other words, your finger tips should be touching the entire coin of the next one to drop. This gives you more control than if it were reversed. (Not sure I'm explaining that well... can someone that understands what I mean clarify at all? )
Tada!...

David Williamson, in his Penguin Lecture, brought out a bucket he’d gotten at a Thrift Store across the street before the show, and proceeded to show how he does Misers Dream. He didn't do his routine, bit showed his technique. Just one of the many nuggets hidden in that lecture.
The way he does it is not like any other MD move I’ve seen (though I haven’t seen a lot). But it’s simple, and what’s really cool about it, is that you see the coin tumble into the bucket.
