I'm relatively new to the Café and I'm enjoying the many topics of discussion. Although I haven't been active for many years (which may be a good thing), I still have great memories of my performing days. The Multiplying Billiard Balls has always been one of my favorite acts to watch and perform. I'm including a link to a Youtube video of one of my practice sessions. The balls were 2 1/8" diameter and I believe phenolic. In any case they were very heavy, extremely smooth & slippery and sounded like real billiard balls when knocked together. This was made about 40 years ago and salvaged from a rapidly degrading VHS tape, so I apologize in advance for the quality. The routine was a work in progress at the time of the recording and while not on par with the videos of current performances I've viewed, I hope you enjoy it. https://youtu.be/LWpHaeuuT_0

The quality of the clip wasn't that bad. I wasn't a fan of the music or your apparent dancing but that was 40 years and we've all done things that needed improvement. One comment on your post however. I think you might be mistaken about the balls being 2 1/8" in diameter. That is a very large ball and it doesn't appear to be stretching your fingers enough to accommodate that size. Not really important as it's the routine and effect that matters.

Nice routine. I think a lay audience would enjoy it. Maybe just a little too much hand washing.

I just did the math. Fakini balls came out around 1970, so I'm guessing those are Fakinis. As Levent pointed out, white balls look larger than, say, red balls of the same diameter.

Yup~ I've always used WHITE FAKINI "GOLF" BALLS. I was one of Frank Radtke's first customers. School audiences varied in "size". I've worked for a school with seven kids, and, high schools of 2,000. (I wore a black shirt, with the white balls.)

After a little searching I found and measured the balls I used in this routine. They are indeed 2 1/8" in diameter. I don't believe they are Fakini as they have a hard shiny surface. For all intents and purposes they look and feel like real billiard balls. At this point I don't remember where I got them. The final version of this routine earned me a Magician of the Year Award from the Tucson, Arizona SAM Assembly.
