Does anybody recognize this description of a Peter Duffie card trick? >>> Two cards are selected by the spectator and lost in the deck. The spectator then takes half of the deck and the magician has the other half and the cut was made by the spectator. Both the spectator and the performer turn the top card over on their halves of the deck and find ... they are the wrong cards. They instantly exchange halves and turn the top card over again and both find the two selected cards!

I don’t remember this particular version with selected cards but Peter Duffie has a version where he use to produce 4 aces call illusion VS reality

Apparently, that's on a DVD called Collusion he did with Zenneth Kok that sounds interesting, I'll check it out, thanks ... he probably used the same or similar principle.

Who knows... this actually could even be exactly the one you're looking for? (Or at least a good starting point for further research.) Description: "A spectator selects a card which is lost back into the deck. A second spectator cuts off and shuffles half the deck - you shuffle the remainder - the idea is that you will both attempt to find the selected card. You both turn over your top cards but neither are the selection. You bury your cards in each other’s section then you reassemble the deck. Finally you spread the cards revealing the selection face up in the middle - plus - the two cards shown a moment ago are face up on either side of it." It can be found in his booklet "Open Secrets".

Thanks, Nicolini ... I suspect this is an updated variation of a previously published Peter Duffie effect. I'll look out for the Open Secrets booklet and see if leads me to the routine I'm looking for.

You've probably not seen the actual trick performed yourself, right?
I'm asking because I assume you were referring to a certain Peter Harrison testimonial.

Yes, the description came from Peter Harrison on another site but it was seeing that description reminded me I that I actually (once or twice, many years ago) performed the effect he describes, I just can't find where I originally read it. It's entirely possible my memory is at fault but the Harrison description rang the all the right bells whereas the description of 'Sametric' (Same Trick?) seemed less direct.

Thanks for clearing it up.
The title actually really reads Sametric, I suppose the wordplay didn't tick for me either... perhaps an allusion to 'symmetrical' and the do-as-I-do aspect (do the 'same')?
