I learned the routine the other day and it’s pretty good. I’m just not sure that this would necessarily replace some of my go to impromptu effects. You have to be aware of your angles and your audience needs to be fairly close to see exactly what’s going on partucularly for the big finish. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of R. Paul Wilson But this one is just “pretty good” in my book.

Nice little trick for some close demonstration in front of 1-4 people. They should be really close to see the edge of the coins.

This is a great gimmick. It will work with any type of coin. I am a jeweler and inventor, so I know what I am talking about.
I would just suggest this. This is like having a sh--l but not having to worry about sound, having it bend in your pocket , etc. YOu should see the STUNNED REACTIONS. WHEN YOU DO THIS. THIS HAS FAR GREATER POSSIBILITIES THAN THE ROUTINE HERE. Imagine this: you can show two coins separately in each hand, then "place" one in the left hand and they can see two there, by their edges. you close your left hand. no messing with the other hand and the other coin is GONE. there is only one coin in the left. and you can produce the other from anywhere. PEOPLE ARE STUNNED. A MIRACLE? IMAGINE COMBINING THIS WITH OTHER COIN WORK. It could make things a lot easier and miraculous. Yes, this is more aof a close up casual effect, and you have to be close to the spectators. But how can you not love this. Try it and you might be surprised at the STUNNED REACTIONS YOU GET. It far exceeds my expectations. do not limit this just to this effect. you could ring this gimmick into almost any routine and SHOCK THE ..... OUT OF PEOPLE. YES. |

If you are skilled enough to do a Goshman pinch you can really add to the amazement of this routine. Yes your audience will have to be fairly close, not exactly so close that they can kiss you, but such is the case when I perform Sol Stones Radical Dice routine and it's a killer effect! A lot of effects are situational and have their proper moment when to be performed. Quarter Pounder may be one of those effects but I believe when the moment arrives it will be a very good one to perform!

I totally agree the Goshman pinch enhances most coin effects when used well and at the right time, it's one of my go to techniques when working in a stand up environment.

Hi Leosx,
Yes you are right about the display but if you show two separate coins, and put them "on top of each other" with some simple sleight of hand, you can do some miracles with this. THIS IS A NO SETUP GIMMICK. THAT IS WHAT IS SO GREAT ABOUT IT. Virtually no setup at all. no worries about noise, or strange sh---ll noises. With a flipper you can't show two separate coins and put them together again so easily like you can with this coin. I would just encourage people to play around with this. It is the ease, no setup and, with ez sleights, the ability to show coins separate or together, in a seamless way that will endear you to this. Much less the miraculous reactions I have had. no worries about bands or bent sh--ls . this deserves some pocket space, and this is due to the unexpected Wild reactions to this. |

Got mine today, can't wait to play with it. It's been a while since I've done coin magic, and now I can do this with imagination coins. Fun times...

An idea, show three reg. quarters. let the spec. feel them. then switch them out. don't make it complicated, get the mini wand from the pocket or another magic coin. etc. the heat is off. switch them for this gimmick and a sh---l . do three to two to one. or .... to none. or combine this with part of imagination coins, Nathan great idea.

Reason being if they were to be able to handle the coins after Quarter Pounder, they may be hyper aware of the coins at that point for which they may notice discrepancies with a certain something that you are using for Imagination. Just something to think about. |

It definitely could play and is a great idea. Sometimes with effects three phases isn't enough or the subject, coins in this instance, warrants a longer set. Combining the two is perfect.

Imagination coins routine is amazing and gets amazing reactions. I have no doubt that performing Quarter Pounder before IC would not be a problem. I would probably have the Quarters examined by the audience before the routine starts. After QP when I move into IC I would simply switch the coin from QP when going in my little purse to get another quarter(s) to perform IC. IC is really fantastic. I always show the quarters front and back before performing IC and no one has suspected anything. Is IC ballsy? Yes and it works beautifully, not once has a participant discovered the s%^l when placing it in my hand, it's just simple audience management on how they are to grab and hand you the coin. Again, just go out there and perform it, you will get better and more confident. IC is definitely one routine which the audience always goes crazy over! Adding QP to IC routine is going to be a lot fun for all!

On Aug 21, 2018, RNK wrote: Here's what is different when you perform Imagination solo. There's no heat on the coins and thus they won't discover the special thing because the coins are not suspect. Here's my thinking on this, when there's heat on the coins (and there will be), discrepancies are then more readily observed or in this case, felt (there is a distinct difference in feel of the special something here). It's also very difficult to know if your audience was aware of this discrepancy since these are things that gets discussed post performance and you're not anywhere near them when they may be discussing such things. Now, to get around this, in theory you could have all three coins examined from the beginning before doing QP. This does complicate the handling some. I would even go so far as to keep the special something requred for Imagination already in play with one of the coins. I don't have my QP yet so I haven't road tested this yet btw thus I can be totally wrong here but I've yet to hear feedback from folks that have performed QP directly followed up by Imagination and reported how that has fared. My instinct tells me however that there will be a lot of heat on the coins after QP if you wish to do more things with the quarters so something as ballsy and in the audience hands as Imagination might be very risky. There's also the whole routining aspect for which Imagination as a solo moment of astonishment might be stronger than it being a follow up to QP. I digress. |
