I reallylike the effect but wondering if the words need to say kill or anal and hug? or can we maybe change words around so we can use this for a family or kids show?

The structure is: 1: The spectator picks (A) - an activity or event that is positive for the performer. 2: There's a little pause, to give the audience time to suspect that maybe all the cards say (A), that all the cards are the same. 3: In carrying out (A), the audience finds out that, yes, all the cards are the same, but they all say (B) - an activity or event that would be negative for the spectator. 4: The spectator never finds out. For example, as a reward after assisting, a kid is allowed to choose a snack randomly. But in doing so, you hint that your're a cheapskate that doesn't really want to give away any expensive candy. The kid picks "Apple". All the alternatives turns out to be "Spinach". |

For today's kids, rather let (B) be "apple" and let (A) be "french fries"... ;-)

Shame they’re packed so awfully that the cards are bent to f@@@ and almost impossible to straighten.

The thing that really makes this IMO is that when you hug the spec the other sides of the cards are shown in way that almost appears to be on accident, and of course the spec being hugged never sees this.
In most of these types of effects the other cards or objects are shown very openly and a big point is made out of it. But I really like how in this they are shown very non-chalantly. Question for Tom Stone or anyone who has performed this and variations of this...I'm a tiny bit hesitant to put something quite as harsh as KILL on the other cards. Has anyone found it dilutes the effect much to maybe tone things down just a little and put something a tad bit lighter such as POISON or I don't know anything besides KILL. Although I do realize that the outlandishness of KILL does make it inherently funny. Just kind of wondering out loud here. |

In a performance that is entertaining and where everyone is having fun, I don't think using the word KILL is a problem. Heck, I am sure Tom has used this extensively and has not been black balled and is still performing today. That is proof in itself that there would be no problem. This is a common effect that has been out for a long time and people have always use the word KILL.

I've found "slap" to be workable substitute to kill.

The more I think about it in some ways Kill may even be better as it doesn’t convey a specific action or plant a certain image in the audience's minds. |

And selling at Magic Live. I have almost flattened my cards by curling them the opposite way and holding that in place with rubber bands. Another few hours should do it

In this case they try and convince you that "These now roll up for easier transport". Really, 6 flat cards took up too much room and made them hard to transport??? No, it's to save on their own shipping costs when also having to ship the stick to hold the cards. Now they can use a mailing tube. |

The problem I have with this effect is that ladies tend to hug me as soon as they get on the stage as they can’t help themselves. I need to find a way of making myself look less desirable perhaps??
