I do not wear a jacket much anymore but I do wear a vest. Most, if not all, most bottle productions require a jacket. Any suggestions?

Without the circumstances at which you will be performing this, it is hard to make suggestions.
I can only suggest you use the silk effect "This" that is a bottle production. A better Quality one, if it is still available is "That". I have always gone with the requirements of the effect I purchase. If it requires a jacket, I perform it with a jacket. I read so much that members want effects that conform to their wardrobe. If the inventor wears the same type of costume as the purchaser, then fine, other wise it is up to the purchaser to make it work for them. For the current bottle productions, a vest is just to tight and short to use for this effect. |

Do you wear your vest open like a jacket or closed? If you had a large vest that you could open like a jacket it could probably give you enough cover.
You could also stuff a silk into your vest pocket and it could drape down and help some of the covering? I'm sure if you play around with different ideas you can come up with something. |

The Wiz Kids have always performed wearing T-shirts or Sweatshirts, which are loose fitting enough for hiding various items (like bottles) in the small of the back region of the shirt. We always arranged their performances to produce the items as quickly as possible after their entrance appearance so there was no bulging give-away once the item had appeared.

Then you have to look at your table if or case that you work out of, an go for a direct steal. Nothing published that I recall, but other performers have used this method to produce a bottle.

You might get some ideas you can use from Wiz Kid Eleazar's "T-Shirt Magic" from The Wizards' Journal #7, especially his description of what he calls a body vest that could be used to produce bottles rather than doves. https://www.magicnook.com/wizJ07/wj0708.htm

I watched a performer one time who used an open vest with a Topit installed in it, from this setup he produced a can of Coke using a silk as a cover. Made an impression on the crowd when he popped the lid and poured it out.
I don't see why you couldn't produce a smaller size bottle about the size of common water bottle.

To echo Bill's recommendation, there are a few bottle productions out there that use silks and require no body loads, so wardrobe won't be a hindrance. That way, you could perform with a vest, a jacket, a t-shirt, a bathing suit, footie pajamas...whatever fits your style at the time!
Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.

A pint whiskey bottle can be at the small of the back or under the belt. As a kid and could get away with such things,
I would produce such a bottle (filled with tea) from the back pocket of an "personality" in the audience. Easy to stand at their side, open their jacket and seem to extract the bottle from their hip pocket.

You can also sew an 'opening down' pouch in the armpit to align with the shirt sleeve. From all angles it looks like part of the sleeve
and allows free movement. It can hold a flat bottle and many other items. If desired, by opening the vest with the fingers of the same-side hand, the other hand can reach in and seeming pull a bottle out of your breast pocket too small for such a thing = reaching through the arm hole.

Charlie, if you're okay with adding a bit of gimmickry, I can suggest a very clean method - assuming you don't need to be able to do it surrounded.
I'll PM you the specifics, I don't think this is the part of the forum where we're supposed to post methods.
Think inside the box. . . it's less crowded.
