Hi Kyle, the Passport is an introduction to the deck, it's not a deep dive. We 100% are working on that, but this isn't it. That said, I'm proud of all the material in there and it's absolutely the stuff I do with the deck.

I received my deck and the passport material yesterday. I originally purchased the black DMC deck when it first came to market. I am very impressed with the progression this deck has undergone. This new forest green deck is a fantastic marked deck. If you are at all hesitating to make this purchase, rest assured the quality is excellent and the marking system is easy to read yet well hidden from spectators. I have just started to read the Passport so I can not properly share my thoughts on this booklet. However, the deck is outstanding, congratulations to all those who must have worked very hard to bring this to market.

The Post Office didn't handle my parcel that well. I thought of the opening scenes of Ace Ventura Pet Detective.
Fortunately, the dent in the exterior box hasn't damaged the brick of playing cards. I bought the previous 2 versions, and marginally prefer the dark red colour, but these Forest Greens are easier to faro shuffle. Good work, Phill. |

Does any US store have rights to the Brick? Or is it only the official DMC website worldwide?

I ordered from Penguin.
Others probably have it too, but you'd have to check for yourself.

Looking forward to using. |

I ordered 12 decks from Penguin, They came in a thin plain white cardboard box made to hold 12 decks (a brick). There was a separate fee for the Passport booklet. The Passport booklet is free with the purchase of a brick from the DMC site but the shipping would have probably cost more that the Passport booklet from Penguin did. The DMC site is also in different currency, the cost of a single deck is much higher than Penguin after conversion and the discount for buying in bulk (by the Brick) only makes each deck about $2 USD less per deck (before overseas shipping costs).

I have had all of the DMC decks to date, and just received the latest ones. The cards are lovely - thinner but yes you can faro them easily which is cool. Shame the box isn't as sturdy as previous ones though....

Yeah, thought it might be just a fluke, but both packs I've opened so far the bottom flap came unglued very quickly. Easy fix at least.

Had the same issue with the bottom flap. Looks like they just used double stick tape. Not something I’d expect to be an issue when paying a premium price for such an awesome deck. I also liked the uncut tuck flap on the rouge deck better but that’s just me.

Same issues with the bottom flap. But otherwise, the cards are awesome!

These arrived today. They included a single card with a pictorial 'expose'/explanation. After staring at the cards for some time now, and trying to match what my eyes see to see what that 'pictorial'shows, I still have NO clue how to read them. Am I doing something wrong?

Got mine today, love them, and also my Rouge decks that I've had for quite a while.
Happened to occur to me that if you combined Green and Rouge DMC decks you could put together possibly the worlds' greatest Brainwave deck, or at least the most surefire one. Haven't performed it for years but one reason I quit was I always hated having to count the cards and was always a little unsure if I had counted correctly. |

Have to say, the passport is pretty basic stuff and in my head just scratches the surface and no more. IMHO, not really worth the money.

I'm always using ultimate marked deck but everyone seems so happy with these ones that I feel interested.
One concern, though : googling Dmc cards leads me directly to the marked deck, does this brand deck exists as a normal deck ? As is, because "DMC" is written in big capital letters, and because of the natural skepticism of my spectators when they see a deck they are not familiar with, well. I don't like this idea. Bicycle are everywhere, they sound more legit to the laymen, imho. |

Hi guys, I'm glad you mentioned the issue with the boxes - I have opened a lot of decks and subjected them to a lot of abuse and with a few of them I have had this happen. Basically (I think) because we are using a textured card the adhesive that is used to seal the bottom doesn't have the same kind of hold as on some decks, and whatever the manufacturer of the boxes has done to join the bottom of the box, it hasn't stuck as well as it should. I'm not overjoyed about this and for the second run of decks we have worked with the supplier to hopefully not have this happen.
I have been able to fix my decks just by squeezing the flap closed, forcing the adhesive to join properly, and then it's been fixed. I realise it's not perfect, and we've aimed to make a premium product so it's pretty annoying to have this happen. Imagine how annoyed you are spending your hard earned money on a deck and having to deal with this, then project that out to me having bought ten thousand decks and having to deal with it. That's how I feel about this. 😂 RosarioRose9 - sorry you are having problems reading the deck, we have always thought of it as a kind of optical illusion and once you 'get it' it's easy, but if magic has taught me anything, it's that people's perceptions and how they see things varies quite radically, so nothing is a given. I'm confident that if you work with the deck and practice you will eventually get fast and confident with the marks. Ref. The Passport, I have tried to be as clear as possible that it is an introduction to using a marked deck, but I stand by the contents - it is simple but it's not weak stuff: it's the material I use when I perform with the deck, and it kills. If anybody has any issues with the decks, be is loose bottoms or indecipherable marks or whatever, you can reach me direct on magicstore@dmcmagic.com and I will do whatever I can to help. We've invested a lot of time into making the decks the best we can and that doesn't stop now they are out of the door. Phill
