Tint - Arief Nugroho
$29.95 https://www.murphysmagic.com/product.aspx?id=63005 The Hype: Imagine showing a deck of cards in its case - and suddenly the case changes colors - on both sides! Here's a color changing effect with the tuck box. It happens with a simple, yet acrobatic move. No switching needed! And, the box can be handed over to the spectators for examination. Most importantly, it requires only seconds to set up. TINT is the clean color changing effect - it can be followed by your suitable card routine immediately. Give your card routine a strong color-changing tuck box effect right from the start! TINT is the color changing effect you've been waiting for. And take note of this; everything happens using a real, examinable playing card tuck box. Features: - Special TINT gimmick - Only seconds needed to reset - Uses a real playing card tuck box - Simple method and uses only a simple move - Includes a strong, yet simple, recommended routine - Detailed tutorial on how to perform this miracle, and how to maintain your device Made with the standard of excellence by Tjiu Magic, creator of "Cross" and "Leap." My Take: This will be a difficult review to write. First off, I love the effect. It is extremely visual and the mechanics make it simple to do. This is another of those do it yourself craft projects. You receive a gimmick and a downloadable video. The instruction is very thorough but this is where the problem comes in. To make the trick up, you need a sealed deck of cards the opposite color of your gimmick. However, the deck shown has the back of a playing card printed. After going through every deck of Bikes that I own, I could only find the current version featuring the picture of two cards and the statement about Bicycle cards. Unfortunately, it doesn't match the gimmick. I have two ideas that would make it possible to perform the trick. The first is to remove the cellophane from a new deck (careful, as you will need it), glue a card with the back out and replace the cellophane. It is possible that it would make it a little thick but the decision would be yours. The other option would be to build a new gimmick to match the current decks. If you take this route, you could easily make the gimmick to match any sealed deck you might own. Making a gimmick is not covered on the video but examination shows you exactly how to construct your own. Obviously, this will add to the initial construction time before you are able to perform it. I sent my concerns to Tiju Magic along with my suggestions and got an email back saying only that I had good ideas. No other solution was given. My conclusion on this is that it is solid magic and looks great. The working makes it a breeze to do. Like I said, you will have to do some major arts and crafts to make this work. If you have the time and the patience, you will have a good worker here. However, due to this, the trick is impressive but I will have to remain neutral. It is not something I will be using. |

Bicycle Elites and Bicycle Gold Standard (Gold Seal) playing cards come with the older style tuck cases having the simple playing-card-design backs needed to match the gimmick. Also, Bicycle Maiden Backs have the older style tuck case, and the maiden design is close enough to the standard back that nobody would notice the slight mismatch.

Thanks. Like I said, it is a good illusion and worth the time if someone wants to go our of their way.

All you have to do is order Rider Back playing cards from a magic dealer. Penguin carries them. After that, the arts and crafts are very minimal and is super easy to set up. I think it took me minutes to set up and I am not a fan of arts and crafts.
I used this now a few times and it gets great reactions! RNK
