I enjoyed the fact that Joe didn't pelt him with questions about mentalism, and that Derren didn't perform any effects to "blow his mind." Just engaging, interesting and fun conversation.

Of course it's a performance.
You don't sit there knowing millions of people are going to listen to this and watch it as well and don't get into character. He was there to advertise his products. It might not be his glamorous stage persona but it's surely a toned down version of it. And I bet they agreed in detail beforehand about what topics they were going to talk and that no mentalism performances would be part of it. |

Actually although I enjoyed it overall, I found the whole thing a little too tame.
I had the feeling both of them made a conscious decision not to step on each others toes that I personally found it a little boring in the end. |

I enjoyed it overall as well, but I would agree with some of the commenters on Youtube that it seemed Joe was not too familiar with Derren's material. If that is the case, maybe it suffered a little as a result, but still worth watching for those who may be on the fence!
