I am a professor of special education and I use magic to convey teaching concepts. From time to time I use magic to convey gospel messages, but I am relatively new to the Christian application of magic. In relation to teachers I use the rainbow ropes to talk about accepting people from different cultures (three colors “tied” together). As teachers it is important to make each culture feel accepted and part of ONE classroom. The end result is the one rope with the three colors blended together without the knots. The ONE rope represents a classroom where ALL children feel welcomed. Could I use a similar routine with a gospel message? What routine do you use with the rainbow ropes? Any ideas will be appreciated. I am planning on attending the FCM convention in July, but I am very excited to learn prior to the convention.
Thanks, Dan

MagicDove.com As a univesity professor in special education I advocate the use magic to increase self-esteem of children with disabilities. Also, many magic tricks can easily be tied to academic lessons. More importanly, magic can be used to create friendships with children with and without disabilities. |

This is off the top of my head, without a lot of thought, but I think that routine already has all it needs to be a "Christian message" or Gospel (Good News) routine.
You talk about teachers needing to accept different cultures. All of us are God's Children not matter the color or culture. We are called to unity with God. And the one rope could easily signify that unity. It sounds to me like you are really just about right on with this one. Nice work. And welcome to The Magic Café friend! BroDavid

Howdy Dan -
I think the "story-line" or patter that came with my set of ropes was based on the Trinity. Three unique/different parts, yet ONE God. peace, phill

Sometimes there are knotty problems between people, (only when people are being knotty) but if they accept Jesus, they can be saved and their differences will melt away.
On the other hand, the puns might ruin it. In any event, great idea. May I use that please?

If the question is directed to me, the answer is yes.
