I want to make a medium-sized box that nests into another box and "telescopes" up. My problem is I can't figure out a way to keep the box in the up position.
Here's what I'd like to accomplish: Lift the outer box up, have it hold in that position, and later push it back down. I want to place an animal inside, so I want it safe, yet with an easy release. Posted: May 16, 2004 1:40pm -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just realized that the Jam illusions sort of uses the same idea. I don't want to make a Jam, but the telescoping idea is similar. Anyone know how the box is held up with that illusion? Any thoughts? |

I would use a bullet catch or have a magnetic latch that engages at the top. You would need at least four I would think to make it secure.
