I can't afford to buy a Sub trunk so I was thinking of building my own but the problem is I don't know how it works. If someone could please tell me.
If you feel this exposure could you PM me and if you still feel this is exposure that's ok. Coolleprechaun |

Hmm. I think as far as the Magic Café rules go, asking for a secret of any kind is prohibited.
If you really want to learn about making a sub trunk, get an illusion book describing the process or order the plans from Paul Osborne for only $25.00. Well worth the money rather than asking for someone to reveal the secret. |

I suggest buying Paul Osborne's "Classic Illusions" book. It's only $12 more than the plans alone, and it has the Sub Trunk and several other very nice sets of illusion plans in it.

I don't think there are rules about revealing or not revealing secrets here. However, building a subtrunk requires more than just knowing how it works, it does require a good set of plans to work from. Though not all plans are sufficient. I know when I built mine I had to rework some of the drawing for it to work effectively. The way that had it drawn would have made it very dangerous for the person inside the trunk. So I made a simple modification and now safety is not an issue.

When looking for the best plans, you can never go wrong if you use Owen Supreme plans. They are available for most of the illusions they build.

Hi Martin,
(quote)Secrets: Please do not ask for secrets to the workings of tricks and or effects. Buy the trick, book, or DVD like everyone else. If you need help with a trick, email or private message the individual.(quote) From Café rules and etiquette Regards. |

There are rules against exposure on the open forum. However, after fifty posts, members may use parts of The Magic Café that are not exposed to the general public. The open forum is not the place to chance exposure of how an effect is done.

Paul Osbornes plans will do a beginner builder good. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you build this with an experienced builder if you are using a Table Saw or heavy duty power tools.
Otherwise, it is a very easy trick to build. Chance
