Don't think that really is answering his question. I don't own it though so I can't comment.

I've never owned the actual prop, but I do have the book. It is a lot like the ZigZag illusion only a little less magic-propish. I've heard it plays well. The book is easily available and goes into a lot of detail not only of the mechanical side of the effect, but also the thinking behind it. Check Steinmeyer's site. It is available there. While you're there, order a copy of Device and Illusion, too. There is a lot of stuff there that will help you out.

BTW: I've had a couple of e-mail conversations with Jim and he was very friendly and very helpful. If you have specific questions, I think he would be glad to help you out.

A Friend Ron Geoffries recently custom built his version of "Modern Art"

John Bundy and Morgan also have an excellent version of Modern Art:

Done well it is a powerful illusion.

Hi guys,

thanks for all of your replies---they have been of use to me.
I will buy that book from Steinmeyers site.

PS That vampire version looks excellent!

Itīs a very crisp illusion. Of course how hard to build would depend on the individuals skill. Jimīs plans are so very detailed.

Mike Berends has a BEAUTIFUL Modern Art....best I've ever seen! He's a member here at the Café.
