Topic: Peter Pitt's "Pitt Sit"

Are there any makers of this great illusion (who have the licence to the original Pitt version)?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

(I used to have a website link to a manufacturer of this, but can't find it for the life of me !!)

Peter's routine is actually a presentation of the Multiplying Chairs Effect. You can get a set from Hocus-Pocus, they're currently being marketed as "Martinka Chairs" and looks like it is a similar routine. I don't know when it was developed, but I have Glenn Gravatt's 4 Volume set of "Thayer Quality Magic" (Catalog items from the 20's and 30's). A description of the chairs is found in Vol. 1, page 228. So the effect has a long history.

The routine is showing a chair and covering it with an empty box. The chair magically turns upside down and right side up several times. The routine climaxes with the appearance of a second chair. Peter's routine was hysterical, because of how he incorporated his name into the routine. That's what made it a great routine in my opinion.

I would love to have a video of Peter's routine. It was a classic.

Thank you Steven Steele for the info.

I had the pleasure of watching the Peter Pitt video from a friend's archives over the weekend. The patter is great and raises the effect no end.

We are looking to place this in an attic setting and the chairs seemed a perfect effect for the surroundings.
