Anyone see it?

Like it?

Anyone stay till after the credits? Great 10 second cliffhanger, there has to be a 4th movie!

Also, for those of you who stayed after and saw that ending, was there a crashing noise and a siren that went off after the screen shot cut away? Most of the people I was with thought there was some technical error upstairs but I think the person escaped...

Hoping to see it tomorrow. I'm guessing that the crash and siren you heard are probably part of the film if they came through the speakers in the house.

I've been a projectionist since 2002, and while things can go wrong that will crash, and cause a bit of an alarm, it will not go out through the sound system in the theater, and should be fairly muted and sound like it came from behind you if there is a problem. The alarms also do not sound like standard police/fire/ambulance sirens.

It was awesome I saw it the day it came out.So cool the ending was.

I'll wait for it to come out on DVD... hopefully it's not as bad as X2, one of the worst films I've ever seen - poor in all respects

X2 had its' problems, X3 IS better

I never got through the first one unfortunately. I didn't have time to watch it. Is it okay to skip number 2?

I liked #2, and I am a big X-Men fan. Not that I agree with their version of the Phoenix's transformation from Jean Grey. There were disparities, but what movie is without them?

Wolverine should have been more violent..... Your right, it sucked!

I wish they would make a movie that reflected the comics better. Wild Child shouldn't have died, I did like the introduction of Colossus. I loved the X-Men.

Derek -

I just sat through the movie twice today, and at the end of the bonus scene (after the end credits), there was no crash or siren. It simply ended with her saying his name.

I really enjoyed the movie!

I read somewhere a few months ago, before completion of X-3, that there was going to be a Wolverine movie. I can't recall when they are scheduled to start filming it. Perhaps that bonus scene was to lead into that?

P.S. BTW, trivia for you. Xavier's mansion is about 5 minutes drive away from the theatre I saw the movie in. The building they used for external shots is called Hatley Castle, on the Royal Roads campus, here in Victoria, and is also used as Lex Luthor's mansion (external shots) in the TV show, Smallville. I've done a magic show (for a company staff picnic) at one time on the exact spot that Hugh Jackman stood on in one scene. :)

Can someone PM the ending? I saw the movie but didn't wait for the credits to end.

I PM'd you

I really enjoyed the movie. I know none of them follow the comics to a t but that's bound to happen. I also heard about a possible wolverine follow up.

They have been "Going" to have a Wolverine movie for as long as I can remember. Always a rumor, and always had the same "It's going to be really violent". Of course, were it to be like the comics it would be very violent, and I would enjoy it.

I can't imagine why they wouldn't have another movie, A spin off, another Spiderman. The Marvel Universe is too cool not too tap.

There are lots and lots of Marvel movies in the works ... Spider-Man 3, Ghost Rider, Iron Man, Man-Thing, etc. ... see http://www.marvel.com/movies

Here's info from the IMdb website. Wolverine is coming out next year, and is being produced by Hugh Jackman's company (his company also co-produced "X3 : The Last Stand". Read more about it in the Wolverine Movie info page and in his profile.

Maybe I didn't just read that it was going to happen, but maybe I read that it was already filming in Vancouver, or that Jackman was scouting filming locations in BC. Something like that. I read it in the local TV Week Magazine a few weeks ago, in the section where they talk about celebrities and what they are doing in our province, along with what films and tv shows are being shot here.

Cardboard characters, mix-'n-match plot ... [*yawn*]

Sorry, just my opinion.
Message: Posted by: Scott Cram (May 30, 2006 02:29AM)
They've finally brought Phoenix into the mix? Hmmm...I wonder if they're going to develop X-Factor?

It would be cool if they did X-Factor in the movies, as they did in the comic book, with the story being woven through the Fantastic Four and the Avengers.

Took my family to see it last night, we all loved it, sadly I was not able to see the last scene after the credits as some of us had to run to the restrooms.

Anyone care to pm me and let me know what I missed?

I was really upset that three main characters died....what is up with that?

IRON-MAN sounds awesome.......so much potential there.

Did you all see the credits? A friend of mine said he saw "Omega Red" and "Psyloche" in the credits, but neither of us saw them in the movie. It would be cool to see Omega Red though. Ill have to look out for that next time I watch the movie.

Why in the h-e-double-hockey-sticks didn't they kill off Halle Berry instead?

She's already said she's not doing another X-Men movie.
Message: Posted by: Rinse (May 30, 2006 08:01PM)
She isn't? Is that a threat or a promise? ;)
Message: Posted by: johnnymystic (May 30, 2006 11:47PM)
Storm sure was nice to watch ;)

I'm still highly ticked off and confused as to why certain characters were killed off.

I was really liking up till that point.

Message: Posted by: airship (May 31, 2006 10:10AM)
Why did they kill off certain characters?

Because Hollywood always feels they have to 'improve' the story, whether they're adapting a comic book or a Pulitzer Prize winning novel. So they change origin stories, character relationships, villain motivations, and everything else to give it that Hollywood spin. They just don't give a rat's a** about anything but money and their own inflated egos.

That's why.

[/quote] Iron Man was one of my favorites back in the '60s...man 12 cents a copy, those were the good ole' days. I wish I still had all those comics...what a fortune they'd be worth today! :( :bawl:

They have committed to do x-men 4. And perhaps some of the characters we think are dead, but did not actually see die, are not dead?

Overall I enjoyed the movie.

And there was no kind of crash or siren at the end of the screening I went to.

And as a footnote - Stay through the credits of ALL films. They may or may not have a little bonus at the end. If you go to a live show, do you walk out during the curtain call when everyone is taking their bows? I hope not. Consider the closing credits to be the curtain call for the hundreds of people who put in countless hours on the film you just watched. And you can learn a lot by just reading credits.

Don't buy the jumbo soda, or hold it for 5 more minutes. You made it through 2 hours, a few more minutes won't kill you. And you won't have to fight your way through a crowd of other people trying to leave at the same time as you.

Oh no, a FOURTH X-Men? It made a good trilogy and a great ending to *let us use our imagination!*

Loved X-3. =)

The killing off of some main characters and the loss of other's powers were good moves. It was getting a little 'ho hum' to have these all powerful characters. A Wolverine spin off would be a great idea; I thought the opening of the first X-Men was the best part of the whole series. Making the mutants a lot less God-like makes them more interesting, I think. I thought the last scene in park and the tacked on bonus scene were huge sell outs and steps in the wrong direction.

If magneto still has his abilities, it is likely that the "cure" was only temporary, and Mystique will come back as well as Rogue and any others that got shot. I doubt Scott is dead though, because you never saw him die. I like to think that Jean Grey saved him at the last moment somehow.

That would be too bad. Out of all the characters in the movie, he was my least favorite. Too milk-toast for a superhero.
Message: Posted by: Diavo (Jun 2, 2006 10:10AM)
The "sell out" endings would be perfectly fine if there are no more continuations. :stands firm:

Did you see the way Cyclops' face started to get mangaled when Jean kissed him? See how people were evaporating pixelly at the end? He's gone, man, he's gone.

As for a temp cure, sure that makes sense. New tech & medicines aren't 100% perfect, and Magneto is a Class 4...
Message: Posted by: airship (Jun 2, 2006 11:32AM)
Also, the kid they took the cure from, his powers were localized and temporary. While they obviously concentrated what he had into something more powerful, it might be that it is only longer-lasting, but still temporary.

Besides, they don't need any actual logic to do whatever they please. It's Hollywood.
Message: Posted by: bitterman (Jun 2, 2006 11:33AM)
Considering the record they broke over the long weekend, I don't think there is any doubt we'll see X-Men 4 very soon. I heard Halle Barry isn't going to make anymore because she wasn't given anything to do in this last one, which I found odd, because she was all over this last one. I hope she remembers the last time she tried to carry a movie by herself (Catwoman) and returns to the cast.
Message: Posted by: Josh Riel (Jun 4, 2006 08:17PM)
I'm thinking Comic-wise, every character has died at least once. Every character has come back. Considering that existence has ended, and still continues (Comic history 101) I don't know if it would be such a stretch for all these characters to return. Anyway, I can't believe Marvel would allow it, as they still have comics with these characters -Still alive, I might add- to sell.
