Topic: Guillotine/head chopper plans
Message: Posted by: billfromoregon (Sep 6, 2006 05:04PM)
I am interested in making a head chopper for my rubber chickem, and was wondering if anyone knows of any plans or explanations of the mechanism. I can build it without specific plans, but I am not familiar with the mechanism, so I need some info before I can proceed. Thanks -

Bill

Why don't you just build a miniature version of the real thing and have it chop the rubber chicken's head off? Are you concerned about the RCPCRC (Rubber Chicken Society to Prevent Cruelty to Rubber Chickens)?

Why not use a Visible Arm Chopper. You can see it at the bottom of this page: http://www.daytonamagic.com/Stage%20Magic/STG41.htm

It looks exactly like a guillotine and the head would actually "fall off."

I would also recomend the visual arm chopper. The first time I saw this in action I was Blown away. I had to watch it a second time to figure out what I just had seen.

Since it's just for a chicken, you should look into the cheaper ones made in India. Robbins sells 'em. They are exactly the same as the small toy finger choppers ... but, surprisingly, they still fool people! I'll bet you can find them for under $60.

Oops ... the Indian choppers are not exactly the same. Same operation, but, of course, bigger -- large enough for a person's hand.
