I am doing a report on turn of the century entertainment, mainly on the circus and the MIDWAY!!! If anyone has any good, historically correct refernce sites, I would greatly appreciate them. Thanks in advance,

Monte

Midways were a new concept, having originated at the Columbian Exposition. Prior to that time, show lots were not centralized in that way.

Joe Nickell's book: Secrets of the Sideshow EVERYTHING YOU NEED (also I echo Dr. Wilson)

Hi Monte,

I'll second the new book by Joe Nickell's called "Secrets Of The Sideshows." In it you'll find everything.

The site Doc mentions is also the best one out there for online info on the Sideshow.

Between both of these sources, you'll find everything you might need to know for your work. Good luck with your report.

Mark.
