I posted pictures of my Hybrid of Saman Zerin's IntruderBox Illusion on my site
The changes were to made it more practical for me and distance it from the Origami Illusion.

Very nice work, Illusionman2. I think the naysayers can now agree your illusion isn't much like Origami anymore. (The orange lights are a nice touch- I assume they work when the illusion is performed.)

For those that have the origami and Zerin's IntruderBOx you know there is a difference in design...compare all you want but these illusions are here for magicians but rather for performance for lay people. IntruderBox is a different look and I am one that did not agree with it when SAMan first showed it, but after talking to a few well know builders back and forth, I have to say it is nice. I have my plans to build it with a small twist after I talk to Saman ZERIN

Agreed about the lights on the top being a nice touch!

This is much better
its good to see an actual prototype rather than the animation
well done

Good job. Any ideas as to how you will present it?

I was one of the people who posted against the original design on the first thread that Zerin posted.

As I stated on that thread, the illusion design as ORIGINALY posted was too close to the Origami design. Since the design was what was patented, I was against the original design of this.

BUT, this is very nice, no infringment of the patent that I can see. I don't think that anyone would mistake this for an Origami. Well done! Be sure to post a video of the Illusion in action.

*I am still no fan of the name though, but that's just me.*

Am I the only one that thinks this is much larger than what the drawings and animations looked like?

Several well known builders and designers knew the measurements were way off and could not work with the provided measurements.

I changed the body position of the girl to a doll house position, that is the reason the poles are in a different position (one one each side of girls torso). The Base is 9 inches shorter than IntruderBox, but the box is 9 inches deeper.

Living Illusions- that is why it's always good policy to build a full-sized cardboard mock-up, at least of the necessary interior compartments, and fit it to your assistant. Keep a sharp knife and duct tape handy at that point to quickly make and test necessary alterations. Takes just an hour or two, total, and can save a great deal of headache in the long run.

Thanks I was afraid you would not like it because of the changes. I still think the original IntruderBox is better and one day I may make.

Dear My Magic Friends,

Just an idea to the presentation of the IntruderBox:
If you want to keep the original size of the box than cover the assistant with a mantle when she steps into the open box like in the Basket illusion.

Warmest Regards,

Saman Zerin

I am starting to remake my Hybrid to a true Intruderbox, it will still have the same look (frame and rollershade). Thanks to all who PM me with constructive ideas so far I have.
1.Make the boxs smaller (they should be 1/2 the size)
2.Use less yellow (it draws the eye)
3.Use a black rollerShade with white words.
Are there any others you can Post here or PM me.
