Topic: Hey, kids ... how can I post a pic?
Message: Posted by: Starrpower (Feb 5, 2007 12:52PM)
I'd like to show some things I've built ... how can I post a pic here (75 KB doesn't give much detail)?

If I do a link, is there a FREE site that will host the pics somewhere?

Many thanks!

Thanks, guys! That was quick ...

Okay, let's give this a shot. I had a chance to work with a group of kids over the past few months building an illusion show. Here they are with their newly constructed props:

I've got shots of them building and rehearsing the show. The Stack of Boxes, which can't be seen very well in these pictures, was a cute routine. It was done "Hillbilly" style to "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" and the stack ends up being an outhouse. I also have video of the show, and I'll see if I can pull some stills from that.

These props will probably be for sale soon if anone's interested.

Or, you could join the revolution and put the videos on YouTube! I am sure that many of us would like to see them.

What is the illusion on the far right in the middle photo (looks like a jukebox)??

It's basically a Doll's House, built to look like a Juke Box. It was a funny presentation. Every time the kid wanted to hear rock n' roll, the thing switched over to Opera (we got the idea from Copperfield's "Vanishing Radio.") He finally looked inside to find it empty, and of course it ended with the appearance of a girl. As an aside, this particular prop turned out unbelievabley nice. It uses the "Wakeling" feet to make the base really deceptive, and it looks completely empty from just a few feet away. It's almost a shame we have to sell it!
