Topic: The report a post button
Message: Posted by: Stephen Long (Feb 2, 2002 08:46PM)
Dearest Cafe staff,
Under what circumstances should members of the Cafe click on the "report this post" button attached to all posts?
Can it be done for purely grammatical purposes?
And once we choose to click on it, what then happens?
It should be interesting to know of the process regarding this.

Many thanks

I can answer that--at least partially.

You probably shouldn't just hit the button because of grammar. Mya and the rest of the staff go through semi-regularly, looking for severe grammatical errors. Typically, you would report a post if it blatantly breaks the rules of the Cafe, or contains material of a questionable nature.

When you report a post, it shows up as a PM to all the staff members. It contains a link to the post in question. We take a look at it and make a decision whether to leave it, edit it, delete it or (in drastic circumstances) delete the entire thread.

Is that about right, Steve? Mya? et all?
