We've lost some good ones. Slim Price was mentioned in the "favorite member" thread. Who else comes to mind and why?

Sorry Johnny! This post gives me that impression.

Apologies,

Of those listed two are dead, the rest are alive...at least as of this afternoon they were.
Message: Posted by: Jaz (May 20, 2007 08:49AM)
Not sure how lost they are.

Werner G. Seitz
Peter Marucci
Tabman
Blindbo
Slim
Glen Bishop
Paul Chosse

What happened to Peter?
Message: Posted by: Jaz (May 20, 2007 09:17AM)
If I recall, Peter got peeved about some of the posts and decided to leave the Café.
Message: Posted by: Rik Chew (May 20, 2007 09:30AM)
What about Paul Chosse, I liked his section in the Buffet?

Charles
Message: Posted by: MagicSanta (May 20, 2007 12:57PM)
Werner G. Seitz -Passed
Peter Marucci - not pleased yet living
Tabman - retired due to combonation of illness and caring for elderly parent
Blindbo - don't know
Slim - Passed
Glen Bishop - Not sure but I would say it was due to lack of respect.
Paul Chosse - don't know
Message: Posted by: Jaz (May 20, 2007 02:53PM)
In the last 30 days Paul Chosse made one post on May 10, 2007.
I hope all is OK with him as his posts are always informative and interesting.
Message: Posted by: tuffnavyrn (May 21, 2007 06:33AM)
Slim was the man......you are so missed.
Message: Posted by: Al Angello (May 21, 2007 11:40AM)
Peter Marcucci left because of a big blow out over color changing knives, I miss him. Peter no body cares about those stinken knives.

Poor Mike Doogan was driven out by the jealous members, who I won't mention, but they know who they are.

Peter can be very stubborn on his views, but you gotta respect the man, very creative!

Peter Marcucci paid his freakin' dues. There's enough of us here to back him in any dog fight with or without knives that morph hues. I wish he was back.

And where the heck is Harry Murphy? I know he ain't ticked off and he better not be dead either the old fart. If he is...Harry give me a sign.
Message: Posted by: Pete Biro (May 21, 2007 09:01PM)
Tabman is alive and well.... I recently stopped off in Georgia to see him. He is super busy shooting video's, editing them and working to upgrade his home. He and his mother survived the Tornado that came thru four days before I got there. Tab took me through the devestated area and I was totally shaken by the destruction.
Message: Posted by: MagicSanta (May 21, 2007 09:05PM)
So he is feeling better Pete? That is wonderful to hear, he is a great guy.

Ive even talked to another few that stay bc of some info they get but think of leaving cause the place has "gone down hill"

When did Slim Price die? I know he packed it up on the Café about a year ago and said he'd be living on the road in his car but I didn't know that he had died.

Sad. I really like him and his posts. Always helpful to all who asked and the "Howie Diddits" will remain as his legacy.

Mike

P.S. And what's the story with John Clarkson? Did he judt get disgusted and leave or was he banned, or what? I miss his posts also.
Message: Posted by: Dave Scribner (Jul 9, 2007 05:06PM)
John left the Café of his own choice. He felt too many members were giving negative or unjustified feedback about "street magic magazine"

Tim felt, in his opinion, that there was too much exposure and didn't want to be a part of a board that allowed it
Message: Posted by: jennieprice (Jul 9, 2007 05:08PM)
Slim died last June. He left his stories, Howie diddits, and a lot of friends that gained from the knowledge he left.

Thanks, Jaz. I went and read the many pages in that thread. Hard to read the many posts through tear-stained eyes. RIP, Slim. Truly, one of a kind. (Pun intended on the use of the word "kind".)

I don't believe that The Café has "gone downhill." It's still one of the best and most complete magic forums on the net. If the reputation of The Café has slipped to the point that the cream is evaporating, it isn't because of the anonymous "They." It's up to US, guys n' gals, to police ourselves, ignore the rabble and set the positive examples. Good manners can't be regulated. Bring back the stars by respecting the thoughts and ideas of others.

I read so many old posts I had no idea Lyndel wasn't here - it's a dangerous habit - places you in alternate dimension where time and place have no value - it's all here and now, and there and then.

Are you guys talking about John Cooper of Atlanta (and later of somewhere else)? Known from time to time as "Mr. Fun"? If so, I miss him, too. We had a pretty long history together, but it just kind of trailed off in the final ten years or so. As far as his being young goes, he had heart issues for years. A lot of it was from years of being severely overweight. I do miss him and wish that we'd kept in better contact in that last decade of his life.

I myself, on the other hand, have made similar announcements. But I couldn't stay away. It's a kind of illness, like alcoholism.
