Topic: Tricks for Radio?
Message: Posted by: MagicFingers (Jul 28, 2007 10:12AM)
Anyone know of any tricks that might work on raido? I am guesting on a program in a couple of weeks, and hadn't planned to do any magic, but if there was anything out there that would work, I'd be interested. We will have callers to the show, by the way.

Sounds like a fun time. Here is a link to a previous discussion on this.

Hope it helps. Mark.

A few years ago, I purchased some cassettes by Scott Wells and Steve Shaw on performing radio magic. I'm sure they're still available through some used magic dealers.

If you can have a live call-in:

See David Blaine's Silent Transmission. The call is instructed to shuffle some cards, the spectator picks one card, then put some card upside down in the pack, and the cards are again shuffled by the caller. Then the spec calls out just the face up cards, as all the cards are dealt. You then reveal the choosen card.

Read about it here

(NOTE: you will need to cut and paste this address into your browser)

You can find a version of this effect in, of all places, Magic for Dummies.

Or, use an ID effect, and have the card picked over the phone.

This thread is very interesting. There is also a newer "Gray Elephant From Denmark" which starts off by picturing a clock. Then, pick any two times opposite each other, etc.

I don't want to write the whole thing out, but you pretty much end with an awesome gasp as in Elephants From Denmark. If anyone is interested, I can PM it to you Just let me know.

That Silent transmission sounds like the Wikiki Location which would pre-date Blaine I think.
