I'm soon going to get the million dollar knot and some silk worm invisible elastic thread to make my own loops. but I'm not sure if I should get black or clear??

I've always used black, and I've never been "caught". But really can't say which would be better.

Black works fine for me

I prefer the black, the clear is more prone to be reflective and become visible.

From a viewer standpoint I'd say black! Photius is right and I have caught reflections on the clear when I'm watching a performance!

Black is the way to go, people don't normally look for thread. Thread is sort of like a thumbtip, nobody's looking for it, plus black shades well in dim light!

While you would think that white or clear would be better, it's actually not, because it can be shiny and reflective, as other posters have noted. Black is the better choice. If you control your lighting properly and maintain the required distance from the audience, the thread will truly disappear. As long as your own handling does not tip the fact that thread is in use, nobody will be the wiser. SETH
