Looks good Michael. How are the angles?

The angles are wonderful. It can be viewed from the front, sides, above, and even below!

Any more comments?

It's a nice idea but I think everyone knows what's going on.
My wife just saw the video and discovered the secret.

How?

If you are referring to the "black" when I rotate, I can honestly say that it is just a shadow. Honestly, it is a shadow.

Michael,
I really appreciate that you are working on another levitation. However this method is pretty transparent as to what you are actually doing. I think part of what gives it away is how long it takes you to get your heel out as well as the strange shape your pant leg takes on during the levitation. Just my two cents. Keep creating!

Best,
Paul

Michael,

Welcome to the wonderful world of inventing magic.... and the heartbreak you get when your ideas don't quite fly. Its all part of the business my friend. Those who are commenting are only trying to be helpful and are not out to knock you.

Those who tell you the truth about things that don't quite work out are the ones that you can really count on to be honest when things DO work out.

Like Paul says... Keep creating and keep working on your magic.

Best of Luck,

Tim

Thank you for your imput. The method may be a bit obvious to some magicians, but really it frys spectators!

I'll be honest that it looks half decent. It doesn't look horrible. But as others have said, it is fairly obvious what is happening. I'd be curious as to the demographic of spectators you have shown this to. I don't think it is really powerful enough to do any marketing/selling of the effect though. I find most self-levs to be weak. Actually yours is more a suspension then levitation.

I find that if the effect isn't 90% effective, then it is a waste of time to do it. Now some of that may be in one's own presentation or lack thereof, but some of it lies in the strength of the effect. With this effect, I think it will almost entirely rely on presentation (which I would like to see some) because, strength wise just as an effect, it is weak.

Thank you Sir! Glad it looks good. I will try to get a public performance video showi spectator's reactions, but I cannot promise anything. At the current time though, you will just have to take my word for it and believe me when I say it gets amazing reactions. A few magi friends of mine have shown the video to laypeople and apparently were blown away. I'm glad it has received very positive layperson response!

I have an advance copy of this levitation, and it is indeed impromptu, it is a good effect if practiced, but I just don't think that Michael is truly ready to release this, or even perform it. I have never seen a live performance from this kid, so I don't know his true performing ability.

For your sake Michael, I'd wait a few years.

You're right, this particuar performance isn't great, but I'd say it is pretty good considering my balance issues. I will work on my performance a bit more, and I am currently negotiating to put this on the market later.

Michael,
I want you to be encouraged to create more magic, but I also want to be straight with you. If you release this it probably isn't going to be successful because with an item like this you are only buying the secret. Almost all magicians will know the secret from the demo and since they aren't receiving an apparatus most will just use it if they find they can use it. There are a few honest people out there that will feel the need to buy it in order to use it. However I think the majority of people/magicians will just take it and use it after watching the demo. Don't mean to be a downer just realistic.

Best wishes,
Paul

I just read everybody’s comments and was looking forward to seeing for myself. I was disappointed to see that it was "removed" by the user.

?

Hope to see more?!

Michael,

If you are going to do another video... why not zoom out so we can see your whole body while levitating. I think that will help with the effect so attention isn't all focused on the " move".

Best,

Tim

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your support, and glad you liked my idea. You're right, I didn't have the best performance in the video at all... I am still working on balance issues as well. But I am spending a ton of my time developing this effect and hopefully this will become my next big idea! And don't worry, you'll all see more very soon! In the meantime I will try to get my older video up while I am working on the new one. Just tio give you the gist of how this should look.

Here is the problem.

Levitations are done to death. Heck Criss Angel is doing everything he can to make people really tired of seeing them!

I hate to break it to you, BUT the "next big idea" in magic, will not be one that has been on TV since prior to your birth.
Message: Posted by: meyegr (Aug 7, 2007 05:57AM)
With all the videos out there - what hasn't been done to death?
