Message: Posted by: Fingers_Fidge (Oct 6, 2007 07:25AM)
I have just seen this advertised and a brief demo on Mark's site. Has anyone seen this and can vouch for the quaility of the product. I am a keen collector of Gambling /Poker chip effects and wondered how this good this was ?

Comments welcomed ?

I purchased the Miracle Chip at MagicLive and I can say the quality of this is great. The routines on the DVD are good too.

Comes with a mentalism routine by Wayne Dobson.

If you are a collector of Poker Chip effects, I think you would be very pleased with the construction of this Gimmick and the quality of the whole package.

The quality is superb and it works like a charm. Highly recommended. Mark doesn't put out anything unless it meets his high standards.

Mark is that demo guy from the UK? He's very good, what I've seen him do is outstanding.

This looks really nice! I'm guessing it is very similar perhaps to Coin Unique?

The on-line Demo dosen't do it justice.

My buddy got it at MagicLive.

He performed it for me and fooled me.

It's on my tricks-to-buy list!

Is it out yet??
Message: Posted by: rmendez (Oct 8, 2007 02:27PM)
Yes, I see it available at Stevens Magic http://www.stevensmagic.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=9558

Is it instant reset?

Frm the demo clip, I think miracle chip is basically a "scotch and soda". But traditional scotch and soda is locked dead and need the special rubber to unlock it.

Hopes that the magnetic version is instant reset??

Personally, I think it is more like Eddie Gibson's Coin Unique which has a pretty fast reset. It's basically the same effect using a 50 cent piece and a quarter. The precision is unreal and I'm wondering if this poker chip set has the same quality precision. I'm tempted to purchase this nonetheless.

I am sure you can nicely combine it with Poker Chip Surprise

Really? That would be nice. The poker chips don't match, do they? I ordered this, so I guess I'll find out.

Mark's online demo shows "Desert Sand's Casino."

This is basically Eddie Gibson's "Coin Unique" with a poker chip and coin. In fact, Mark calls it "Chip Unique" on the DVD. Guess they decided to change the name to "Miracle Chip" after they filmed it.

You can get it with a US or UK coin. I think the chip is beautifully made. And, yes, it's a Desert Sands - Las Vegas chip. You also get an ungaffed matching chip and a real 50 cent piece, which was nice of Mark.

I'll be honest here. The props are great and Mark's routines are nice, but I don't think this is a "10" by any means. Watch the demo and judge for yourself.

Robert, they do it in uk coins??
I just thought it was half dollars and euros?
I'd like it for the dvd with the routines, just so I can use them with my coin unique....
Message: Posted by: Robert M (Oct 30, 2007 08:27PM)
Matt - If I'm not mistaken, I think Mark calls it a "two pence" coin. It looked like it was about the same size as an American half dollar. Isn't this a UK coin? Sorry, I'm only familiar with US coins.

I'm delighted with the chip. Definately a well made prop that offers a new spin on an old but very powerful idea.

I love Coin Unique so I just placed an order for this. I'll do an unbiased review when I receive it. This looks like one of those really clever gadgets that is fun to play with even if you don't perform with it.

I own this and have a question for other owners.

Does the fact that half of the edge of the insert half dollar is white bother you?
Message: Posted by: RevJohn (Nov 6, 2007 09:01AM)
Andi,

Since I didn't notice it until you asked, I would have to say no. But then again, a Sun and Moon coin doesn't bother me, with half the coin being copper.

Haven't had anyone ask about it as well.

Andi,

The routine that I do with this is the routine that I have for coin unique (it's on the video demo section of the Stevens Magic site). All the "heat" is on the ungaffed half at the end. I show the "chip and half" at the beginning and toss them into my left hand. I don't show the edge of the coin initially...don't believe in "running if I'm not being chased."

Some of the routines are only fair to me. Most of the time the poker chip is not used for anything toward the laymen. Creativity is needed with this set. To me, "Magnetic Silver Copper" is better.
Message: Posted by: Tonylew (Sep 23, 2011 05:56AM)
OK I *do* give this effect a 10. I think a couple of the routines on the DVD are quite clever. I particularly like the one that uses a match box and the one that causes the vanished coin to appear above a chosen card that is in a box.

I sold off my magnetic copper and silver because it was such a pain in the a-- to reset it. Paul Diamond makes it look like a walk in the park, but I had to use an external magnet to get the job done, On the other hand I learned to consistently and instantly reset the MIracle Chip in about ten minutes.

No hesitation on this one.

Quality of the props is excellent.
Message: Posted by: hektormagic (Apr 26, 2018 05:33PM)
Is it magnetic so can we reset it without a bang ring? And is it visually same as the other chip product by Mark Mason the Gravity Flipper poker chip? It would be nice to switch them for some routine if they are look same.
