Topic: Tip-over sub-trunk

I know that sometimes,a tip-over trunk and a sub-trunk is built as a single illusion.
Will it scream trick trunk if they are used in the same show?
What is your opinion?

Is a tough question and I think is a matter of opinion.

the audience might think "why is he using another box to make the escape" or they could say "of course he is escaping from the magic box used to make santa appear"

Its a tough one, lets see what the rest has to say.

No problem. It would be a problem to use a zig zag and a mismade and a cubezag in the same show because they have a similar effect but one box is an appearance and one is a transformation. The tip over is used at the begining of the show to produce yourself and the subtrunk is used during the second half.

If you have wings and a back opener... the sub trunk is performed and as your assistants take away the curtain your other assistant goes south under cover AND after opening the empty sub trunk you open the tip over, and she appears in that box.

The third soulution is to buy a few more illusions that are diferent in every way, then you won't have this problem.

I have a subtrunk and a tipover and was wondering if it's a good idea to combine the two illusions into one and use them in the same show.

MAPS: The tipover trunk has tipover "moves" that are kind of a "give-away." If anything, I'd recommend you drop that and get a plexiglass trunk that can be used with a platform as a production box, or used on the floor as a subtrunk. When performing both in the same show, have some removable tape on the corners so for one use it has a (for example) red frame and for the other trick a blue frame. Use different colored cloths as covering, too.

The only time I would use the large Tip over instead of the Sub Trunk is when you have to make a corporate executive etc. appear. If they are not veteran box jumpers, the Tip Over is a good option. (Actually I prefer the flash appearance for appearance of the inexperienced.)

I don't think I would ever combine both for the same audience.
