As a follow up to the closing..

How do you open your vent show..or portion of the show..

I usually use a non speaking (baby) or non vent talking puppet.

Sometimes I use Nigel as an M.C. to open the show and tell people what to expect.

I'm currently opening with a routine I developed for Bill Abbott's 'The Thing'. The props include a clear plastic box and a cloth which creates the illusion of a ball floating under it. I use the box and the "zombie" as puppets and do ventriloquism with them while doing Bill's basic routine. I won't give more detail than that but it's a fun routine.

Since 2001, I have been opening my kidshows with my Axtell bird, DODONG, with the animated bird arm. The bird is very colorful, and the animated arm makes the illusion perfect!

Adult shows... I usually start with my main figure, Mr. Parley, right away. (I use just one figure in my typical 30-40 minute show. In my full evening show (1 1/2 to 2 hours) I use 3 figures with my egg bag as my closer.)
