Hi Dave,

I studied a bit of Shorin Ryu when I was in College under Sensei Henry Uy at the YMCA Manila who studied under Master Latino Gonzales.

Also studied a bit of Tae Kwon Do, Arjuken under Master Remy Presas and Arku Tai Pa Kung Fu

But when I got a little bit serious in the Martial Arts, I devoted several years of my life to Yaw-Yan, Philippine Dance of Death. Check it out at http://www.yaw-yan.com
Until I got too old for it :)

Then when the MMA fever got really hot...I studied grappling via BJJ and Sambo. But I realized after five weeks that Im too old for it...of course my instructor was saying nobody is too old to study grappling but my body was saying otherwise.

Anyway, for the last five years or so, I have been so involved in MuayThai...promotions, management and officiating for the National Team.

I fell in love with MuayThai because of its simple ways...simple enough for busy individuals looking for a workout. No Katas to memorize (I'm so terrible in those katas and basically anything to memorize) :)

Now back to the topic...anybody with some kind words for my Schrum figure? For sale to the highest bidder with a starting bid of $1k

Here's the link again

The first style I studied was Shorin Ryu but I later made it to 2nd degree balck belt in kenpo. Wanlu, to hear you saying you're too old makes me feel really old (55).

Sorry to drag your thread off topic.
The Schrum figure is very cute. How do you like it?

Wow...2nd Degree!!! Cool!!! I had white in Shorin and white in TKD...my belt got darker after awhile, it became dirty white :)

To be a black belt not to forget 2nd degree, I can imagine that's a lot of katas which I can never learn. Kenpo is American Karate? That's a very nice style and famous too.

When I say Im too old for a particular style, I mean Im too old for fancy kicks and stuff :) MuayThai does not offer fancy stuff...just basic kicks and strikes. My kids are also in MuayThai and we just find it perfect for a good workout...

But no single style is superior, so I study other arts like Arnis/Kali Escrima which originated in the Philippines :) and I always say if you want to really learn how to fight as in actual fights, one must learn both striking and grappling and weaponry :)

I respect people in the Martial Arts regardless of style because they know the discipline and loyalty behind the arts :)

Now back to the topic: :)

The Schrum is so cute...the mechanics are so smooth and well built and the face has character. :)

Ill use it for the first time next weekend :) and will put a video link in my blog :)

Im selling it to the highest bidder above $1000 :)

Thanks
