"Cannibals. Fakirs. Equilibrists. Crime and punishment. Rituals. Slaves, cults and customs. Warriors and weapons. Musicians and mendicants. Dance, dress, undress and body modification. Structures, conveyances, beasts, and more breasts than you can shake a stick at! This is The Secret Museum of Mankind."

Complete page scans of a notorious 500+ page 'popular anthropology' photography book from the mid-30's, which was marketed in men's magazines for its shock and titillation value.

Wow that is a really great link. Digging through it right now. Thanks for that one airship. I actually have a copy of this book, wasn't aware of the history of it though, should have done some homework on it, but got it at an estate sale and didn't really think twice about it other than to page through it a couple of times. I'll have to dig it up. If I'm not mistaken I think there was a series of music cds also with the same title, not sure if there is any relation.

Yeah, it looks like the link is down already. Here is the BoingBoing story I got this from:

Hopefully he'll bring the book back online once all the attention has died down. He probably didn't want his server to go *poof!*
