I saw this trick at a carnival...... a table top, a clear glass and a circle with a symbol inside.....the circle w/symbol was on the table the performer placed the clear glass down on the circle you could not see any of the circle or symbol
it just looked like a glass upside down on the table...... ok before you go dunninger on me let me tell you the rest........ now comes the effect.. the spectator (me)or ANYone else picks up the glass ... and lo and behold theres the symbol in the circle I touch the glass drink from the glass kiss the glass smash the glass then the performer offers me to cover the circle ...... no matter how I do it I cant seem to cover the circle completely and I can always see the symbol ...
REPEAT FROM THE BEGINNING ALL DAY LONG FOR THE SAME SPECS IF YOU WISH
hellllllllllllllp....... anybody?

What was the circle drawn on? Wood? Fabric?

I've seen many variations of this trick and most amount to a scam to get people's money. Not recommended for busking.

Let me ask a few questions. I am trying to fully understand this.

Did the symbol/circle vanish completely from view, or was it just not visible OUTSIDE the rim of the glass, being entirely covered by the glass, but still able to be seen if looking through the glass?

Was the circle/symbol fixed to the table (or part of the table's design), or was it something that could be picked up and moved (painted, drawn, printed on some other movable item, like paper, wood, etc.)?

If movable, were there images on both sides?

Was the player allowed only one placement during each "try", or was the player allowed to reposition the glass after the initial placement?

Were there more than one of these set-ups available at the booth? (Several players trying simultaneously?)

Did you see anyone (besides the operator) win?

Did the operator touch, take back, or move either the glass, or the circle/symbol after the spectator was allowed to pick it up, and before the spectator was given his chance to try.
