What are the illusion builders with good reputations, or can I have a list with a lot of illusion builders?
Message: Posted by: The Mirror Images (Dec 9, 2008 03:12PM)
I suggestion Dream Illusions. http://www.dream-illusions.com Do a search here on the Café for many different positive reviews.

Here are some links for other builders:

http://magicauction.com/IllusionHotline/Professional_Builders.htm

This should help tremendously. Feel free to PM for more information.

I know you want to hear more - but Dream-Illusions is VERY GOOD! Jack will always make sure you are satisfied.

As for others, you won't find the same price as Jack offers, but here are a few:

http://www.procraftillusions.com
http://www.dansummers.com

Like I said, Jack's quality and prices cannot be beaten - you get an ATA case free, too! Huge ++ in my eyes.

Good luck!

Loyal,

I really like working with George Richbark. He used to be part of Douglas-Wayne Illusioneering. He has built a number of projects over the years for me and does a great job!

He wanted good rep... and good builders!

There are some bad builders noted also... so be careful and do a search...

And also, Serg has posted links to people/companies who aren't building illusions anymore, such as Oz Illusions.

Sincerely,
David

I feel that this guy has to be on the list. His work is great, and his service is better! I'm honored to have him as a friend, and he's none other than Thomas Clark. Check him out... http://www.magicsax.com
He's built me a custom prop, and it's Purrr-fect!

Dan Wolfe of Smoky Mountain Magic is great. Have a look at their site, & you will find a range of top quality illusions. Dan is a great builder, & a designer too.

Serg, many of the builders that you indicated make rip-off illusions. Take care!

Hi Serg,

I saw a lot of young magicians lost a lot of money with bad rip-off illusions!

Believe me, if they chose competent builders like William Kennedy, John Gaughan, David Mendonza, Bill Smith, Owen Redwine, all these masters like you know are the TOP in the world, they would had save a lot of money, many nightmares!

If you want to be a true professional magician, you must contact true professional masters above.

Who are the best to build a tip-over trunk?
Message: Posted by: Chezaday (Dec 11, 2008 01:21AM)
Sure there are many builders out there, some are better than others ... some are more affordable than others. You have to remember you get what you pay for. If you're talking about some of the proprietary illusions, there is also a "performance fee" built into the price tag.

Not everyone needs an Origami Box Illusion, there are plenty of other great illusions out there. It really depends on where you're working and what the performance area is like.

Lots to consider, of course ...
