I have just split up with my girlfriend and moved back in with my parents. To help me through this hard time can you all post the usual 'im sorry for you' and 'plenty more fish in the sea' comments.

Also if someone wants to give me a cyber hug then I would be very gratefull.

Peace and love and singleness

Matt

A mentalist is talking to his friend. He says: "My girlfriend is dying and I need 1,000 to send her for a life saving operation."

The friend says: "If I give you 1,000 you'l only spend it on more routines and effects, so I'm not lending you the money."

The mentalist says: "No mate, you don't understand..... Money for routines I've got...."

Old one and corney but I hope it made you smile... She aint worth it buddy :)

Withnail the lurker...

A big hug all the way from Lima. I'm back next week so if you want someone to buy you a few beers and listen I'm around. If you feel like coming over to Hudd you could stay over and we could have a DVD watching session the morning after.

Without a girlfriend, you'll find more freedom to employ your creative urges unhindered. Better performance, nuanced routines, new ideas for your next book... perhaps a new Age of Enlightenment for you. Enjoy your parents while you can.

Peace.

Both Autonomy and Serenity are not without a price.

The price is small in comparison to the rewards.

Pop another beer and enjoy your autonomous, serene bachelorhood.

Still haven't found what your looking for???

Obviously not the QofH you thought she may be brother... Next time choose wisely and don't just accept the first thing that comes along.

Here's a little study material from my youtube account to get you over the next few weeks...

[url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yl4bMgFxYU&playnext=1&p=36D858B443094C6D&index=1&feature=PlayList&playnext_from=PL&ytsession=9Wv6ESXSAk9AacuV0Bq4cWnloC3nJt1VGETQXbnnfaVC5_pDtDqSKKG0prrFDl7p16guJPtvqEGHLPkhEVAriafOhyKGtY06GVVzc0jsIQdzDh67w8kJCCu3MZwgGg0Xa42H86BLml2ak1TtpsDQ3irFJih6PPUNsvcSxYQe7y5RUkEuD_vZFRtsMtLvS2O8XHm-MlgOz0kavk1QdNUpqqLgNJOIDC2XYy_1XZMA93Bs4gwtRJNiAfg7yGh-J0oL]study[/url]

These are mostly infield pick ups but if you look through the associated links you'll find a course or two that'll help you put things into perspective...

Have fun Brother...

At times like these we seem to want to disallow our sorrow and pain as it is not socially embraced. Pick up a book called "When Things Fall Apart." Allow yourself to embrace this part of life and you will grow from it. And let your parents know you are thankful to have a family to fall back on.

It sounds like you're going to have to start claiming that you're spending a lot of time practising 'Paper Balls Over The Head'.

There is another girl waiting just over the horizon. You just have to be a bit patient. In the mean time you can, hopefully, live rent free with your parents for a bit and save quite a bit of money.

Positive notes:
It's not a divorce so you don't have to pay alimony for the privelage of not living with her any more.
No children so you don't have to pay child support for the privelage of not being able to see them.

Now go get your drink on.

"Inconsistency is my very essence," says the wheel. "Rise up on my spokes if you like, but don't complain when you are cast back down into the depths. Good times pass away, but then so do the bad. Mutability is our tragedy, but it is also our hope. The worst of times, like the best, are always passing away." - Boethius (sort of).

Deep breath. Stand up straight. Look at me (picture's on the left).

You'll do.

Now bugger off, you silly sod.

Look at my avatar ... all that white hair and white beard were caused by women ... lots of them. Don't sweat it. There are lots of women everywhere. They are all different, and that is part of what makes life interesting. Now you will have the chance to get to know another one.

There is only one constant law in the universe --> Everything changes!!!! So, just get used to change ... don't try to fight it ... go with the flow!

Cheers ..... Charles

Words from a grizzled but wizened vagabond I had an interesting chat with recently: "Just remember, there's always another job, and there's always another girlfriend."

Go to the ocean, throw stones in the water and scream your lungs out and if the mood takes have a good cry. Get it all off your chest. Made me feel better when I broke-up with my fiancee. I met my now wife 5 years later, and it was worth the wait.

Have a big Scottish hug - and you can't get tighter than that! (Scottish gag - LOL)

Derek

... yeah, and I ended up with kinesis's ex fiance, who is also his sister and she showed me an 'Elmslie Count'. Yeah it's great being Scottish. We just don't get these hang-ups the rest of you talk about.

On the subject of being Scottish and being cheered up. I highly recommend going to see this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQrqMkCuHqA&feature=related or at the very least checking out the episodes of "The Thick of It" on youtube.

Just think yourself lucky that she's not your wife, you'd have to pay for the pleasure. That should cheer you up!
Message: Posted by: JAlenS (Apr 27, 2009 07:28PM)
Whatever you do, DON"T CRY. Your ex girl friend will intuitively know and get off on it.

And...remember all those expensive things you bought her when you could have been buying things for yourself. REMEMBER!!!

Unless you are sincerely heartbroken. Sorry Dude. An authentic Cuban cigar will cure your pain.

Wait until she marries someone else and has a kid. Then send the kid a huge drum set for their 8th birthday :)

It will take a while, but it is a fantastic revenge tool!!!!!
