Governor Phil Bredesen presented Dolly Parton with an honorary degree from the University of Tennessee on Friday morning.

After more than 1,000 graduates walked across the stage, the commencement ceremony shifted gears into a concert-like environment.

Dolly hit the stage singing Rocky Top. The crowd jumped to its feet to join her in song. Before the ceremony was finished, the country music star received four standing ovations from the crowd at Thompson-Boling arena.
Thank you, UT! The lady helps make Tennessee a beautiful place.

I hope Dr. Dolly visits us at the IBM Convention in Nashville this year. We need all the class we can get!

I first realized I was old when I heard one teen say to another, "Did you know that Dolly Parton did a cover of Whitney Houston's 'I Will Always Love You'?"

She is a true class act no argument there. I wouldn't mind seeing more celebrities with her outlook on life.
