Calling all Brits!

A few years ago, Pat and I were on the ferry from Dover to Calais. For dinner, we ordered fish and chips. They came with something called Mushy Peas. For the life of me, I don't remember the mushy peas, but Pat does and raves about them.

Does anybody out there have a receipe for good mushy peas?

Basically sweet green peas, canned is OK, pureed in food processor. Yum!

Traditional chip shop recipe.
Dried marrowfat peas, boiled in water with a splash of peagreen, which is basically a colourent.
A little bit of salt in the water to taste, the amount of water to peas is about two to one.
Do not puree or fanny about with them in any way shape or form!Nancy restaurants tend to balls good honest food up!Boil, simmer, serve.
Lovely in a cup with a bit of mint sauce on the top.
