Stopping for Fuel at the Pelican Truckstop.....
Message: Posted by: abigkahuna/1 (Jul 14, 2009 12:50PM)
Reminds me of one year, the wife and I pulled out of Pima County Fair after sloughing and pulled into a truck stop there in Eloy. It was in the wee hours of Monday Morning, so the place was packed, We finally found a spot between two reefer trucks. The slow rumble did nothing to stop our slumber. When we awoke hours later, we were the only vehicle in the acres of now empty parking. We didn't hear a thing as all those trucks pulled out. Ha! It was a hike to the Rusty Skillet for breakfast...

"Truckstop Blues"... sounds like an eight track tape I have. Actually it's "16 Greatest Truck Driver Songs"... one of the worst tapes I own (and I have a 250 plus collection).

The truck is nice by JS#3's truck has more "character".
Message: Posted by: The Curator of the Unusual (Jul 14, 2009 11:17PM)
Absolutely Todd!..J#3S also makes more money than I...Therefore he can afford the repairs easier then I can....
Message: Posted by: Todd Robbins (Jul 14, 2009 11:54PM)
There is no repairing JS#3.

Over inflated tires, is that what we're discussing? They don't wear well.
Message: Posted by: The Curator of the Unusual (Jul 16, 2009 12:27AM)
Harley, In my case..."Under-inflated"...as I'm sure ya-know...They charge for Air now!....
Message: Posted by: Harley Newman (Jul 16, 2009 10:00AM)
Hmmm. Word roots...deflated, inflated...flated must be related to "flatulence".

BTW, Jim, I see you're a "special user" now. Congratulations! We all knew you were "special". It's nice to have the title to go along with it.

No air here. It's the backyard, where everything is truer than on the midway.

Well Thanks Harley...Coming from the "Zen" or should I say "Nipsy Russell" of Sideshow...I'm not sure if that's a compliment or a invitation to put on a straitjacket and hope for the Best.....
Message: Posted by: Harley Newman (Jul 16, 2009 01:27PM)
For one of my classes, we took a group shot of everybody in a straitjacket, hitchhiking. I've heard of that "best" stuff.

It was a compliment. If you want it laid on thick, you need condiments, and will have to find a cookhouse somewhere.
Message: Posted by: The Curator of the Unusual (Jul 16, 2009 01:36PM)
Thanks again Harley...I don't need condiments...any Bone you throw me is more than appreciated...Your posts always make my Cranium think...Thanks again...

It's a pleasure! I look forward to the day we actually sit in the same room, because I think we'll blow the walls out! Especially if we eat at a cookhouse first.

Absolutely!...I'm dying to hear your "Trials and tribulations" of traveling with the Indianapolis Clowns...among other things...I don't know if we will Blow-out the walls...But at the very least...We will make the Sidewall Flutter....

In all Reality Todd, I wish JS#3 would let me Drive his "Truck" on just one jump...
I always figured if I could pull that off..I could sit with confidence at the same table in the Cookhouse with all the Joie Chitwood "Hell-Drivers"...knowin that they had nothin up on me....

Hey Jim, this post reminded me of that truckstop at las cruces. I always get free showers there whether its from a giant guy driving for Fed-Ex (not what all of you are thinking so don't get excited) or the fat girl behind the counter (again, don't get excited)....
