Topic: Get "Clink Gold" for free...and possibly win $100 |
That's correct. I will send you Clink GOLD for free if you enter a contest, with no obligation to pay me for it, ever - it is yours. Due to many requests I have made a run of CLINK GOLD, which comes with a gold gimmicked ring, and I am announcing the HOW DO I CLINK? contest. CLINK is not a trick as much as it is a set of utility gimmicks. This is the first time I have released utility gimmicks into the marketplace, as opposed to a trick that is done one way, and one way only. With Clink one can perform a multiple vanish while standing: The Vanish ...or other effects: What is Clink? The notion of utility gimmicks can be confusing for people, so I decided to give $100 to the person with the neatest idea for Clink. If you wish to enter I WILL SEND YOU CLINK GOLD AT NO COST. However, to enter you must promise to: a) Film yourself performing a routine (60 seconds or less) b) Post the video on YouTube under the title HOW DO I CLINK? c) Send me a link to the video, emailing me at regal@regalmagic.com You will have until the end of August to post your video (this is the honor system), but the cut-off date for entering is this Tuesday night, or 36 entries, whichever comes first. I highly doubt that 36 people will enter, perhaps only one will - if that should happen the entrant is guaranteed to win the $100! In any event, the odds will never be more than 36 to 1. If you wish to receive a FREE CLINK GOLD and enter the contest, you must be one of the first 36 people to post on this thread that you'd like to enter (that way all can see how many "spaces" are left), then PM me your address so I can send you CLINK GOLD for FREE. I am traveling after Tuesday. which is why there is an entry cut-off of Tuesday night. To be clear, YOU WILL HAVE UNTIL THE END OF AUGUST to post a How Do I Clink? video on YouTube. I will pick the winning entry. I hope this sounds like fun to you! David |
So I don't already have to own Clink to enter the contest? If I post here you send me the clink gold for free and I have to perform a routine 60 seconds or less of it before august? Sorry for the question my english is not really that good so I'm a little confused, Thanks, Ricky EDIT: Okay I understand now, sorry I was reading to fast! Anyway, yeah I would like to be a part of this contest! Thanks. |
Hi David, IŽd like a free CG (does it sound cooler and trendier with initials?) to enter the contest. Cheers, Jon |

Though I do mostly all mental magic I can see applications for a thought of coin or like in the video invisible coin. I like it very much and it would be the first ever you tube video I post. Hmm interesting, interesting. Michael |

Thanks, I figured out some PMS where being stored in another "box" and emptied it. I swear to you, NOW there is room! Really! 21 entrants thus far - that's more than I thought I'd have - as stated at the top of this thread I WILL ONLY ACCEPT 15 MORE, a total of 36 maximum to keep the odds of winning the hundred bucks 1 out of 36 (at the very worst). Not bad odds in this world. David |
Hi David, I'll enter the contest! I think you have my address, but I'll PM it to you anyhow. Cheers, Jerry |

I just got back from the post office, having shipped 31 CLINKS. When I got home there were 4 more entries. That means there is ONE MORE SLOT. |

Maybe you could have quarter finals, semi-finals and then a final Clink Off, David. Maybe I should just calm down a bit. But its still quite exciting. |

I want everyone to see the videos, that's why the rules state that to compete the video must be posted on YouTube. It strikes me as what makes it interesting. |

This is really a great idea David! I am really excited! Thank you, James |

Missed it! @#$!. Oh well, it will be great to see all the videos of some cool new magic. I think we're going to see some great ideas. Good luck everyone! Best to all! Adam |

David - are you Santa Claus? Clink arrived today here in east central Florida. Usually we can't get the local postal service to do anything this fast unless it has to do with happy hour. Had to blow off two meetings scheduled for this afternoon now that I have the 'goods'. Talk to you soon......... Tony Tuccillo |
HAHA. If it got to Florida that fast it should come to P.R. tomorrow. :D. |
Shoot! I was all excited to join and its already well underway. Maybe next time. -Jacob |
The remaining CLINKs shipped today. |
I almost posted a funy line, but I think I will save it for the video. See ya on YouTube. |
Received Clink today. That was fast! The DVD is short and sweet, but gives some good ideas on how to work with these tools. David is absolutely right, this is not a trick, this is a set of utility items. Looking forward to playing around with it over the next couple weeks! Thanks David! Kevin |
Geesh I gotta start reading more - too bad I missed out on this one. congrats to the people that managed to get in line in time - its very generous of david |
I got mine today! Really nice utilities!! Thanks Again, Bernardo Rodriguez |
I received mine today as well. And I'm off to work... Thank you, Luke |
I'm not sure if mine arrived today since I'm not home, but I will be this weekend and if it has arrived, I will try to get a video up that week. |
Got mine yesterday....Going to exchange one of the "utilities" and then film a video....very nice quality of the products though. |
I really like this and it is one more reason and effect to use that special something for, great thinking. |
Got mine in the other day. This is not what I was expecting.....great great little utility item with a bunch of different applications. Hopefully I can come up with something really cool and unique to show off. Thanks again Mr. Regal for letting some of us try this product out and have a little fun with it. |
The ups store closed before I got there but I got a pink slip in the PMB that means the package is waiting for me:D/ Wuju Ricky |
I'm in the UK so fingers crossed... |
I'm in Taiwan so... haha. still waiting eagerly!!! |
You blokes are next door compared with New Zealand!! |
But you don't have the British postal service! |
Yeah the UK Royal Mail is aweful AND they keep going on strike so we never get any post! Jamie Daws |
Got mine yesterday. It's a great idea. |
Darn! Wish I clicked on clink before.... Good luck all and I cannot wait to see the videos!!! Mike :) |
I receives it yesterday. It is great. But size 12 is way too large for me. I have sent it to exchange to a size 7.5. Have not wear a ring before. Hope it will fit. |
So are the other gimmicks gold as well or just the ring? cheerz |

Still waiting for Clink to arrive. I think a size 12 will be to big for me, here is hoping not. Mike |

Im still waiting too. Guess the typhoon really makes the delivery difficult. God bless Taiwan... and my clink too. |

Thanks David video clip should be on line soon! Andy
My DVD case arrived crushed... clearly no fault of Mr. Regal's and I replaced the box with another one just like it to maintain my own sanity. This of course means mine arrived this morning. What a devilishly clever idea! I love it. My mind is already swimming with ideas and I'm currently working on a full routine. |
PMed you...I know the cut off date, but I will do 2 U toobe videos if you count me in! |
Are we allowed multiple submissions? |
Mine just arrived (in the UK), but like Andy & Michael, the box lost the fight with the post office.. However, the benevolent power (and decent packaging) of Mr Regal reached across the waves, and the disc and gimmicks were intact and in good order. The size twelve is too big for me as well, but rather than change the gimmick,I thought I'd use lateral thinking.. I'm eating 400 triple cheese, lard and suet pizzas which I calculate should take my finger up two sizes.. mmmm! Good luck to everyone! Charlie |
My ring fits perfectly which was a huge relief. |
I recieved CLINK today in the post. Again, the box didn't live up to the traveling torutre but everything inside was fine. The effect is very cool and is incredibly deceptive, However, due to my carelessness, I managed to smash a thin glass while holding it. As a result, I now have a rather large slit across the pad of my right thumb and a rather large bandage covering it. Not to mention the blood I lost. just a word to the wise, make sure the glass is not an incrdibly cheap, thin glass. It hurts! The effect it'self is very cool and has sparked looads of brilliant ide'as and routines! Jamie Daws |
LOL I also smashed a glass... luckily it did not cut me. Sorry to hear about that Jamie. I went out today and bought the perfect glass... thick, sturdy, and TALL. |

Mine arrived yesterday. Typical "Regal" magic. Brilliant, elegant thinking that is fooling and easy to do. I have a few ideas for a routine, but it's pretty hard to beat the three coins to a glass routine, The structure is perfect. This will pretty much replace my bell bucket. see you on youtube, James |
Hi, mine arrived today...hurray...now its time to think about new ways how to use the clink gimmick...as said above its hard to beat the stuff already on the dvd...nice work mr regal... greetz from austria max |

Hi All - Well, there's about ten days left until the end of the contest. I want to remind all the people who are participating that after they post a video to YouTube, they should send a link to that video to me at: regal@regalmagic.com THe video should be titled "How Do I Clink?" You can also post the link on this thread if you choose - but you should send the link to me at the above address - I just want to be sure that I see all the entrants. Thanks! David |
Just checking to see if you are letting those who sent you a link know that you got them? I sent a link but don't know if it was received or not. Thanks! RevJohn |
Yes, RevJohn - your link was received, have no fear. |
Mine too? Thanks Andy |
I got an application for it. Just trying to get it uploaded now. |
Ok, so I uploaded a couple of bits. They will be removed after the competition, as I had to borrow a video camera for the weekend, and the effects are not polished or to full perfomance standard (a few tells here & there, and the ideas are only a couple of days old..). However - I had lots of fun playing with Clink, and haven't even tried the supplied routines yet (the video camera had to be returned for the owners holiday, so time was crucial). For those in the UK, one gimmick is the size of a 10 pence, so lots of possibilities.. The links: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPOAFyp-R74 (Part 2 would ideally be straight after this, as part of the same routine) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2VuyfJ0aaQ&feature=channel (Part 2: the clip is over a minute, but the performance is under 60 seconds) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hj0-P30Qpms&feature=channel Clink is great, thank you David, and good luck to everyone else. Charlie |
Mine is up and I decided to forgo the comp and just post the video that is over 60 sec. http://www.youtube.com/user/mysticfloyd Good luck to everyone!! And I hope you enjoy. Floyd |
Thanks so much to David Regal for sending us Clink! to play with. Here's what I did with it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkBdzZ4i0L8 Now I can go to YouTube and look at everyone else's routines. Cheers, Jerry |
Hi, so here is my entry to the competition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3LIf5gebqc I focused on new ways how to use this utility device...so pls forgive some performance drawbacks like no real presentation...the three coins (english penny, chinese coin, half dollar)i produce are genuine and not magnetic... hope you like it...thank you so much mr regal... greetz max |

I've enjoyed the videos listed above in the thread. A search on YouTube turns up about half a dozen "How Do I Clink?" routines, and since mine doesn't appear in a search, even though it's titled properly, I wonder if others aren't appearing either? Just in case, would everyone mind posting their links here in this thread so we're sure to see all the routines? Thanks! Jerry P.S. Sorry -- this seems to be a better link for my routine than what I listed above: http://www.youtube.com/jerdunnjr |

Jerry, I agree I enjoy watching everyone video. Your video will show up in search, it does take about 10 hours but it does show up I thought the same thing. Good luck to you all. Floyd |

Thanks. I thought this competition of Davids was a good idea initally but I am going to reappraise that to brilliant thinking. I've seen 3 clips so far that have me totally sold on this effect - cunning ploy Mr R ! - And instead of the usual light blather from folk saying this is great and its a killer etc etc etc we are actuallys seeing that this one really is great from real performances. |

Hi Everyone - Just a few days left to post your contest entries on YouTube. Remember to email me with a link at regal@regalmagic.com I have received 10 emails with links thus far, so please, when you post, email me a link so I can be sure to include you. A couple of people have told me they can't compete due to injury or mechanical failure, but please, if you entered the contest, post! The good news is that the entries are very good, and some have fooled me! David |

David, will the owners of Clink have access to how some of the effects were done? Don |

Jonnyboy (Jonny Cat?) - I love your routine. Cheers, Jerry P.S. How much for the cat? |
With Jon Allen and jonnyboy cat why do we have an economy problem. All we need is more cats eating tuna and some pay envelopes and we are set. |
Great job jonnyboy :D. My wife walked in the room wondering why I was laughing out loud (LOL), so I decided to grab my cat and "demonstrate". My obstinate cat refused to cooperate (I should have just shown her your video). In the midst of it all, the larger gim**** fell on my hard kitchen floor and split (literally)! Half under the fridge and the other under the stove! Yikes! I better think, of some other way to Clink :(! Only 26 hours left! Bosco |
Thanks, guys, I'm so glad you liked it. Bosco, I feel your pain. Truly, herding even one cat was tough for me!:-) John |

Here is mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZkHGXSQsoc I decided to include it as an opener to a Miser's dream routine in a show I did at a big hotel. Nothing clever like some of these entries I have seen but it went over really well. The adults were all watching like hawks. I went over the minute time limit but I doubt I would win anyway. I think jonnyboy and Jon Allen are the serious contenders here. Thank you David regal, awesome tool. James |

Well guys, here's my entry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNTgpp2FGq4 After the little "accident", I had to shift gears and think of other ways to Clink! It's not very polished or is it a well practiced routine, but I hope it will stir up some ideas for further creativity. Love the ideas from all the videos so far. I hope Mr. Regal will publish those as well. Thanks again Mr. Regal (and My 3 year old for loaning me her toys ;)). Bosco |

Hi Everyone - A reminder - if you've posted on YouTube please send me an email at regal@regalmagic.com with a link to the video. I count about 25 entries, and I don't want to miss anyone (a few people wrote me because they had tech issues, but that still leaves half a dozen unaccounted for). I can already say that this contest has resulted in some shockingly good entries, and GOOD FOR DIFFERENT REASONS. It will be very hard to pick a "best," as it is apples and oranges...which I hope makes the point that Clink is not a trick, but a set of utility gimmicks. Again, I have to say that several effects fooled me! Thanks for participating everyone - I'll try and pick the winner before the holiday. David |

Sorry David, I too have been having technical difficulties.... I will reshoot a video and post it today. |

I liked jonnyboys routine, must be some 1964 tuna in that can... I also liked jerrdunn's routine. Maybe offer them the choice of handkerchief or coin before the vanish? Or say, "I know it's kind of cheating to vanish the coin under the handkerchief, it makes it too easy for me, so..." Not to sy I didn't like anybody elses routine, but of the ones I've watched (not all yet) those are the ones that stood out for me. Thanks guys |
