He has a DVD set (2 discs) on his sleeving. It also features him fully explaining his FISM act wearing a transparent jacket so you can see everything clearly! Very good stuff for anyone interested in sleeving work. He's really a master at it.

Rocco did our Magic Convention in Florida a couple of years ago and I bought a bunch of his DVD's from him. If you want one let me know. He is truly amazing and makes it look effortless.

I am going to be the odd man out and say I am not as impressed by his sleeving. He always drops his wrist which is a big tell. The oversize suit coats and sleeves are also a big hint.
Message: Posted by: vinsmagic (Sep 9, 2009 11:35PM)
The oversize suits is because he is sleeving hub caps lol

ONLY TO YOU KIRK....Not the audience he wishes to attract and entertain.

Believe me , I can guarentee he is not wishing to attract someone like yourself.

You state when he drops his wrist it is a big tell....This is simply because you KIRK understand the basic movement of sleeving.....His audience does not...This is why he is "ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC IN WHAT HIS DOES" for his audience...and simply putting it, this is the very reason why you are the " ODD MAN OUT"

I sat in a room full of 300 people watching Roco...He totally amazed everyone...
.......We are talking about a guy here who can sleeve "ICE CREAM" Salt& Pepper not to mention things that one would never imagine.............

...His oversize suit and sleeves are not noticable to his audience .........If in fact they actually are as you claim.

KIRK...Next time you watch Rocco in action..Don't look at him....Look at his audience instead.................... You will "NOT BELIEVE" how impressed they are!!!

REMEMBER KIRK: What Roco seeks is to entertain people who enjoy entertainment.

I too have seen Rocco many times as well as lecture. He always is on top of his game and a very entertaining magician. He makes all he does magical and most importantly, the audience is in a state of bewilderment with his actions and magic abilities. He is also a thorough teacher not only during lectures but on his many DVD's.

I have to say that I love sleeving, great practice. And when you put the practice in you can really rock this stuff in a lot of creative ways as Rocco is clearly a master of. I like to use this specific part of the art and it is "practice" that has made it so valuable to me, not to mention that it is a lot of fun. Get this pistol poppin' in both hands and you're as deadly as Wyatt Earp. ;)

I first saw him back in the 80's.

If it fits .... it...is in my books to review now and then.

With regard to this technique....Less is more....

Used at the right time with other techniques...Priceless..

Mickey, you have a real point there. I guess I am just not able to willingly suspend disbelief when I see him. For those who can, watch Ivan Amode or Lou Serrano sleeve. No tells, just great magic. They are not sleeving hub caps or ice cream, so that may be why they don't telegraph so much to me.

To see the best, see Dean Stern, but I think that will be next to impossible for most.

Several months ago, Rocco lectured at our IBM meeting. It was as close to true magic as I have ever seen. He's scheduled to appear at Magic Funday in NJ this November.
