Anybody do this?

Or a variation?

What is it like?

Do sponge balls work better?

Or will cups and balls balls work?

I did the effect, years ago, using 3/4 inch balls from FAKINI. Always got a good reaction. Haven't done the effect for awhile!

Cheers! ;)

I learned a version off a David Roth tape. It uses a wonderful steal he credited to Ed Marlo.
I`ve done the routine for years, and when I drop it for something new I get requests for it. Any trouble with young teenages, and this shuts them up.
I don`t know now similar Roths version is to yours, but try it.
Andrew Galloway does a good version on one of his Ramsay tapes and a version is in John Carneys new book.

I forgot to answer your question on the balls when replying earlier.
Do not use sponge balls, because they look like they compress, which of course they do.
Roth, and I, use solid super-bounce balls. Galloway used cups and ball type balls, and Carney, grapes.
Any help ?

Yes, the very same routine! I was young at the time I learned it and knew nothing about originality!

Cheers! ;)

The routine was done with 3/4 inch cork balls. As the books states "You can use balls about 3/4 inch in diamater made of cork, rubber, paper, cotton, etc. The book shows cork balls with a cotton cover. The type used in Chop-Cup or Cups and Balls.

I learned the routine and did it for a local manipulation contest. Never did it as part of a public show. It did not work well with my show persona.

Carney, Secrets of Magic? What, I thought, are you nuts?

So I looked at it again and there it was with grapes.

Grape nuts!

Thanks.

Sometimes the most obvious things are hidden in plain sight. It is trying to hid that makes them visible.

Don't know or have the Roth material, but....

Stanyon - How cool!

Originality isn't all it is cracked up to be.

A good fake often gets more.

Cheers to you.
