As nice as this effect is, unfortunately the quote from Heinrich Heine is not correct - he was killed by his "Knechten" (see: http://www.heinrich-heine.net/belsad.htm), the word "Kuechter" does not exist in german and therfore the quote as it is at the moment does not make any sense...
Message: Posted by: RooMan (Dec 10, 2009 01:54PM)
Ach der lieber! Dan, ya gotta brush up on your German!

(Hope I got the ach der lieber bit correct...)
Message: Posted by: LebanonCircle (Dec 11, 2009 01:18AM)
Thanks everyone! I corrected this days ago with the help of my German friends so it is correct now!

I've just got to update the website. No copies of On the Blood have been shipped with this small typo so no worries there!

Just wait till you see my new Jock the Rapper effect!

Regards

Dan

His killer simply waited outside his door with an accomplice and distracted him, saying "Ex-keez me Meyester..."

(Blackadder reference for those not in the know ;-) )

Lebanon Circle Store is close till February 2010.
We will need to wait for a while to see this effect on sale.
Cheers!

I ordered mine as soon as it was posted on his site hoping it would ship before he closed down. I sent an email checking on the status with no reply so we will probably have to wait.

Hi Wayne

Sorry, I didn't get your e-mail. I've shut shop but orders taken before I closed will be shipped as usual. There's a newsletter going out later today.

I've closed for Christmas as I work alone there's no one to take the reigns while I'm away.

Have a great Christmas everyone!

See you in 2010.

Regards

Dan

My On the Blood just came in and I have to say, I really love this effect. Here is my review…

My order was shipped just before Christmas and it just came in, so the international post took a while. Once my order was received, Dan emailed me the instructions. It was a 15 page document that was very detailed. There was extensive information about the life and death of the Romanovs. If you like weaving a good story into your performance, you will like this. The method is very easy and self working.

When I opened the box, I was very happy because the package was wrapped with a Russian newspaper and old twine. This fits very well with the story line on how you received the package. I thought this was a nice touch and the attention to detail was fantastic.

The package is a picture frame type box with 7 pictures of the Romanovs hidden behind the frame. The frame looks great and the quality is exceptional!
All pictures have a bit of blood splattered on them except for Anastasia’s picture. The effect is basically a selection process to prove Anastasia always escapes the executioner’s bullet, based on the old Anastasia conspiracy theory. The pictures/cards are a bit smaller that I would like (roughly 3X4 inches). I was hoping they would be the same size of the “From Hell” cards. But overall, they look great (especially with the blood) so it is not that bad that they are smaller.

Overall, I am more than pleased with this effect! If you like beautiful props with a fantastic story line, this is for you. I think Dan has outdone himself on this one and I am very happy to have one of the first sets to hit the market. I will be using this a lot.

The only problem is Lebanon Circle is closed until next month so you guys will have to wait to place your order.

I hope I will not have to wait too long.

I just received mine from Dan as well, and I have to echo everything Wayne said above! While I haven't yet had the chance to perform this, the actual product itself is beautiful and extremely well made. I actually like the size of the cards, it makes them so much easier for me to handle.

I love the fact that I can sit this in my lounge room and just wait for people to ask about it. Another great prop from Dan!

I received mine today as well--Boy! What a beautiful looking prop.

Guys I will have the honor to perform this in tv in the next months.
Is a beautiful piece of art, like all the props that Dan does.
I spoke with Dan and MANY things will be release in the next future that will make you crazy!!!

Finally broke down and order this piece. Very well made and an attractive piece. The method is simple with a good story behind it.

I know this is an old thread for an effect released a while back, but if you use it, there are some additional
Romanov family pictures located at:

http://www.retronaut.co/2011/06/the-romanov-family-albums/

Not the sort of images found in the history books. The retronaut website is a fascination collection of retro and unusual images. All bizarrists can probably find something useful there with very little searching.

Unfortunately I would not recommend this trick for the Russian. When I showed it to many viewers, it all seemed disrespectful to the Romanov family. Despite the fact that the history is scary and very interesting but in the endof perfomance, many say - better not to show the trick, as This is disrespect the memory of the tragically deceased royal family.
