I'm a long time Levenger fan and saw a couple things in the most recent catalog that might appeal to magi.

I REALLY like the looks of this new coin purse

Looks like it has good capacity. You can monogram it for a nice look, and the divided compartment seems like a great way to keep sets of coins together for easy handling and access. Personally, I also like the zipper because, along with the overall design, it just comes across as a little less feminine than a traditional Goshman purse.

You also may want to check out this "Grid it" organizer -- essentially a panel with a basketweave-like pattern of elastic straps that allows you to hold any number of smaller objects in place without them falling to the bottom of a bag. Might be especially good for workers who use brief bags, cases, messenger bags, etc. where the smaller items can tend to get lost. Comes in three sizes.

Finally, separate from the Levenger stuff, I recently found this Case Logic digital media case:

And it's PERFECT for coins, up to and including silver dollars. It looks like the same basic idea and size as the O'Connell coin case -- which I have no doubt is better crafted -- but you can find these at Walmart for $4. I'm really pleased with it.

Just passing along some stuff I thought others might find useful. Apologies if any of these have already been suggested on the Café and I missed it.

Best,
John Armato

Thanks John, That is a very nice looking coin purse at Levenger. I like the "buttery soft... leather" description. I want one.

I stopped using that Case Logic case except for just storage. In my experience, I found that if you put silver dollars in the case and put it in a bag, briefcase or pocket and it turns upside down, the silver dollars in the bottom two rows will slide out of their pockets and just end up rattling around in the case. And then it's just an awkward $4 coin purse with my $700 worth of custom UWC and TT sets bouncing around inside it.

I really liked it when it came out and I got two of them, but in the long run the ones I got just weren't portable with silver dollars in them.

Ah -- good to know. I'm finding the Case Logic cases are a little more convenient for storage rather than in-transit use as well. I still want a thin purse in my pocket with just the coins I need.

If you get the Levenger purse, I'd love to hear what you think of it. I'm still in the flirting stage with it myself ...

I purchase from Levenger a lot and never noticed that Grid Organizer - that actually looks useful to me.

Unfortunately Levenger prices have sky rocketed over the last couple of years; getting tougher for me to pull the trigger on some purchases there.

Thanks!
