Interesting holiday, doesn't recognize anything like independence or an event, it is kind of a 'we exist therefore we are' thingy. Kind of like gay pride without the banana hammocks.

It celebrates the signing of the British North America Act in 1867. The Act made Canada an independent country, while maintaining symbolic (and some bureaucratic) ties to Great Britain. The Act was renamed the Constitution Act in 1982.

I'm a day late, but I celebrated Canada Day with Rush. Geddy was surprised to see so many "Cannucks in Kansas City." Great show. My ears are still ringing.
