Topic: Twisted Christmas Art Gala and Show
Message: Posted by: Matthew St. Cyr (Oct 18, 2010 10:28AM)
Hey guys! Long time no talk! Sorry I've been gone for a while.....my computer has been down and out.
It's running........roughly.....but running now!

Anywhoo.....I've got a little something in the works that I wanted to share with you guys!

So I am planning on putting together an art show/live performance for Christmas 2011.
As you may have surmised by the title of the thread, it is (as of now) being called Twisted Christmas.
As you all know, the Christmas holiday was not always all about bright lights and commercialism....and in a lot of countries it still isn't.
There was (and again still is in some places) an element of the dark and macabre to the holiday. It is with this in mind that I would be
most interested to see artists visions of a dark and twisted Christmas.

The Art Gala will run from afternoon to evening and will be followed by a live show (currently untitled but will also be a macabre christmas theme).

I am sending out a call for Artists - Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Miniatures....anything goes. The only guidline is that we are looking for a
darker and/or macabre twist to the Holiday.

So if there is anyone interested in participating, please let me know!

Matt:

If you want a free exchange of ideas for this, might I suggest creating a blog page at blogspot.com with open comments, or creating a group for it at Facebook.

That's a really good idea, Tony! I believe I have found a project for myself this afternoon!

I don't get much access to Facebook unfortunately, because it's blocked here at work......so I will have to make up a blog! Good call Tony!
