Topic: Keeping a sub trunk lid open at 90-100 degrees |

Hey Guys, I am having a lot of trouble with figuring out how to keep a lid staying open while my assistant can tie me in the sack. It opens just like the Pendragons beautiful red and silver Gaughan trunk......and the lid is very heavy .....any ideas...... Thanks, Luke Mouton |

A strap or cabel attached to the lid running 45 degrees to the trunk so the lid leans back just enough to stay open on its own. |

Now I'm thinking a small chain...not sure...let me see if I can get a picture up.. |

CHains will do fine. Plus, you get extra points for the good looks. |

You will also have to make sure you stand towards the front of the trunk if you have the lid back at more than 90deg., if your lid is as heavy as mine (Thayer style steamer trunk) then it may tip backwards with you or your assistant in it. Blair |

Buy welded chain & bolt it to the sides of trunk. Small unwelded chair can stretch. Be sure your angle is right, not to far back or trunk will tip over. If you bolt it you can check the angle & adjust it accordingly. Then remove excess chain. Paul |
