This one scares ( worries ) me much more than the Belasco Challenge .

Love craft was a master, and he used over 51,000 words to pen this tale.
So I will likewise begin with a single word to start:

On ancient vellum , by the wanderings of an ink drenched scarab, mystic symbols slowly scribed.

Interpreted rather than translated by Abdul - Alhazred, known to men as the Mad Arab.

Truly the servant of the Great Lord.

Nariluggal -Dimmerankia, Nariluggal -Dimmerankia, Nariluggal -Dimmerankia .

Three Seals by the number in order spoken doth ordain, the doer, the dark master , and his name.

For millennia, forbidden wisdom of the Elders remained guarded and unshared.

No sane mortal dared to cross that dark threshold, to peer into the ghastly abyss looming just ahead.

The distance separating Providence and Babylon in ones mind is quickly closed.

There are things, knowledge in this world and in others which no man should ever seek

Things which cannot be controlled or comprehended, only sensed.

Things which launch huge black hounds into a savage howling rage.

Things researched, rediscovered , possibly implimented by one Charles Dexter Ward.

Where is he, how did he escape his asylum cell and get away?

I'm excited about this challenge. The Case of Charles Dexter Ward is one of my favourite HPL stories. I might have to give this one a go.

In the first Carcosa Challenge, much time was spent in search and connections to the color yellow.

In the matter of CDW, it seems Egyptian Blue holds significant information. The color is created ed in part using essential Saltes. Insights whispered by the Black Pharo, or so they say .

Soon Dr. Spektor will have us investigating the entire primary color wheel in the Carcosa Quest.

Since Bill Montana so generously contributed a shiner coin to the Belasco challenge. I feel it isonly fair tomention that Bill's invisible writing formula has been revealed in secret files recently released/ opened by theCIA. Bills method and several others for invisible ink circa anither era in the world of spys. All tipped on the Rachel Maddow show. How's that for bizarre!?

The case of Charles Dexter ward contains a serious even ominous underlying base.

Much food for thought, and many roads to be traveled. During a recent sojourn, I came to a fork in the road.

The direction I thought my routine was heading, may have abruptly changed.

From serious and dark, to a comedy routine.

Whoda thunk it !?

Now it has been announced that three new entries have been recieved.

Seems the white ivory ball John Dee utilized is on a roll. A pity that the red one was broken.

We can only imagine the answers to ancient secrets it may have contained.

Message: Posted by: Dr Spektor (May 2, 2011 10:31AM)
FYI - for those PMing what Serious>Comedy in the instructions - that just means if it comes to having to choose between two excellent routines for the grand prize, the more serious one will be one element to help break that tie. However, an excellent comedy routine that hits all the other criteria still could take the award.

Salts
The dark corners of my mind is haunting me by day and night.

There is no escape for me no one to help me.

They don't see them moving among us.

The old gods is haunting me for my sins.

I played with the salts.

I played with the symbols.

I played with the old books of wisdom.

I played God.

Death is just a doorway to another hell.

Hell is now and forever for me.

I sold my soul for eternal power.

Nothing stopped me.

No grave stayed close for me.

The salts of the dead was power.

The power to be God.

I have a contribution, but decided a long time ago that it didn't fit the criteria as an entry. I was going in a different direction far too early to turn back.

There is so much possibility with Ye Essential Saltes that mesh with both something that Professor Scrye has done and a bigger project that he is working on. I have promised The Keeper that I would gather Prof. Scrye's notes and in the Spirit of Carcosa submit it as research material FTGOTO (For The Good Of The Order).

" SHAM "

When a person is on the brink of death, their eyes mark the final moment in a subtle way.

The light of life within them, as if on a dimmer switch ,begins to fade and then goes out.

Their shine in time replaced by lifeless gray cataracts of death.

Some say the darkness indicates the soul has left the body.

Others feel it is a shadow of sorrow cast by a singular reality and recognition.

That is the instant in which they conclude the promise of life after death perhaps , was but a sham.

Brother Kotah thanks for sharing these info I did not know about M.R james and voynich mms these are both very interesting and something to look into.

On the subject of carcosa it was never about the price of winning for me it was more about the info that I could get about H.P Lovecraft and his story's that are truly wonderful and to get ideas about bizarre magic from masters like brother Kotah.

Congratulations on your excellent s entries. I also enjoy the challenge of these contests. Dr. spektor brings to light many topics and authors I had been unfamiliar with. It always seems to be a creative learning process.

No doubt that the lay out and presentation of the material and enteries on the site are absolutely amazing!!

Thanks lots to Dr. S for inclusion in this one. I have a goal to use the secret of the ES for a practical performance situation. The first half of my contribution represents what we have already done in terms of regeneration. We've explored this particular subject several times, but this is IMO the best of the offerings of the ways that we presented regrowth/regeneration as an effect.

The second part is what I want to do: Take a "ritual" and make it more "scientific" to show how something got lost in translation and goes horribly wrong. We may not use this particular concept for this year's show, but it is definitely going into the file as the overall effect is far too visual to not use at some point in time.

All 75 pages are downloaded and I have some good reading to look forward to...thanks to all of the entrants!
