Topic: New from rsvpmagic! "Jump" featuring Balloon Burst!
Message: Posted by: russ stevens (Jul 5, 2011 02:40PM)
Hello Everyone,

I thought you may be interested in seeing the trailer for our latest project "Jump" starring Shanghai based magician Frank Zheng.

It features an amazing brand new PK effect called Balloon Burst, that I guarantee will be in most performers working sets once they see just what stunning reactions it gets. Imagine having a stack of balloons which can all be examined (none are gimmicked), the spectator chooses one balloon (free choice, no force) and is given it to hold. The magician now moves his hands around the balloon very slowly and WITHOUT TOUCHING it, the balloon bursts on his command! The performers hands can be checked before and afterwards, no pins, sharp objects or chemicals! Almost instant reset too! The DVD features a lot more magic featuring cards and coins and runs at two hours.

Trailer is here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QlU2m4gqoA

This is what a few people that have seen the effect and method say about Balloon Burst:

"Wow! What a great addition to PK magic. A real fooler and I predict everyone's gonna be doing it..." MARK ELSDON

'The balloon burst is brilliant, a test conditions demonstration of PK which will go straight into the act.' MARC SPELMANN

"The balloon burst effect is now in my act.. It's so good I placed it into my strolling act as soon as I saw the method which usually never happens... bravo" ALAN RORRISON

"What a refreshing DVD. The balloon routine is oustanding!! The perfect piece for any performer - what a great way to get attention - I can see this being used in trade-shows, street, bars, restaurant work, and so much more. You could make a living doing close-up magic if you just performed these SEVEN KILLER routines. That's how fantastic this DVD is!!" PAUL ROMHANY

Do your hands have to come that close to the balloon as shown in the demo?

Thank you.

I saw Frank perform at Illusions in Bristol and his matrix was just beautiful! I've pre-ordered this. Great price.

An other great project from rvsp ...
Order placed...

Hello magicinsight,

The hands can be further away and the best product for this proved to be The Vortex, although Frank used a Wizard Product. Hope this helps.

On another note, thank you everyone that has ordered the DVD and to our regular customers, a BIG thank you again for your continued support of our products.

Best,
Russ

I find that Russ' answers to various queries have been very honest and straightforward. Also his posts have been very polite and humble. I'm sure such attitude will certainly help boost sales of the 'Jump' DVD.

Wishing RSVPMagic and Russ Stevens all the very best and good luck.

:xmas:
P.S. IMO the 'Jump' DVD along with free prerelease bonus routines is worth considering.

Thanks very much Ustaad for the kind words. As a company we always want to offer the best service possible and hopefully keep the loyal customers that we have, plus new ones that can see just how good the products actually are.

Hello Everyone,

Just to let you all know that things are ahead of schedule and all orders will ship out on the 22nd July! Thank you to everyone that has yet again ordered, I know you'll not be disappointed! All pre-orders will get the free bonus DVD, but only up until the release date of next Friday.

Russ

Hi Russ I just preordered can you please tell me or PM me what 'extra' equipment is needed and if any is it available through RSVP. I noticed in the description in mentioned a gaffed coin for one of the routines but in another routines description the text was cut short so I'm not sure if one or more of these routines need that gaff.

I'd hate to get the dvd and not have the needed supplies.

Thanks

The Balloon burst is a very clever fun and practical effect !

Russ was kind enough to give me the heads up about this a little while ago, and last week in Vegas we were filming a new magic show pilot, and the star of the show LOVED this.

AG

Great dvd must have, killer price.

Where are they shipping from Russ?

Thanks,

Hello RNK,

They are shipping from the UK. Delivery to the US should take just a few days. Just to remind that all pre-order offers will end once the DVDs arrive with us, which hopefully will be tomorrow (22nd July). I'll hold to offer until tomorrow night, midnight GMT. Dealers should have these in stock within the next ten days, so ask them to order one for you should you wish to buy from them.

Thanks again everyone for the fantastic support. It's much appreciated.

Best,
Russ

Does the balloon pop require an additional purchase of a gimmick?
Message: Posted by: russ stevens (Jul 22, 2011 07:09AM)
Hello Mike,

Yes, it does but I think most magicians will have one of these in their arsenal already.

Russ

Buy this for the balloon burst alone! Everything else is just a welcome bonus.
Message: Posted by: Blindside785 (Jul 23, 2011 12:54PM)
I'm in, I cannot wait. I at least get one routine or more that I use from any RSVP release.
Message: Posted by: Luke Dancy (Jul 23, 2011 01:52PM)
Russ was also kind enough to share this with me a while back and I have to agree with what has been said previously in this thread. The balloon burst effect is just too cool. The rest of the effects are clever and practical. It's obvious that Russ cares about what he puts out because it shows in this release and his past offerings as well.

Again thank you everyone for the kind words, which make this kind of project so worthwhile doing. We try very, very hard to make the best products that we can and appreciate all the support from new and loyal customers throughout the world.

All orders were indeed shipped out four days ahead of time and should be with you all soon. Murphys should get these DVDs in for dealers to order around 29th July. Thank you again.

The ad copy states that the hands are examinable before and after the effect, but they're obviously not immediately affect the effect! There is a slight clean up
Great effect though.

I got "Jump" today and ran through it. This is an amazing DVD and I found a few things off that bat that I will use.

I knew what I was expecting when I saw balloon burst. I came up with an identical method but this one is a tad better than mine which excited me.

These routines are workers, I need more time to digest this DVD.

Thank you Russ for the great customer service yet again!

I reviewed this tonight during the live Magic Marketplace show and here are a few of my thoughts from the show.

Pros:
- There's a great variety of material on this DVD! You have magic with balloons, cards, coins and sponge hearts.
- It's obvious that Frank uses this stuff because it's solid material and it plays great to spectators.
- The production quality is great and the teaching is very easy to learn from.

Cons:
- A couple of the effects will require you to purchase something but most of you will already have what you need.
- One of my favorite coin routines utilizes a very expensive gimmick so that was a bit of a negative for me.

Overall:
I really enjoyed the 'feel' that Russ gave this DVD. There was a fun style going on that I was really digging. This was a fun DVD to watch (which doesn't happen often for me) and the effects presented really do offer something for everyone. I'd recommend this to someone that's looking to add something fun and new to their closeup act. The balloon burst could have easily been sold on its own.

Thank Luke for the great review and glad that some of the fun Frank and I had making the DVD came over to you the viewer! Murphys Magic Supplies have now sold out of 'Jump' but I would expect that it will be back in stock in a few days. Thanks again everyone.

I solved a procurement requirement on this dvd...for the balloon burst.... if you are in the know about this write me and I will help you get something you might need to do the balloon burst..I certainly don't want to give the suggestion away to anyone who didn't buy the dvd so you might have to convince me a little bit that you are an owner.

I have the DVD, but now need to find a source for the smaller of the two gimmicks required for Balloon Burst.

Would someone be so kind as to PM me with a source? Also, if someone happens to have any suggestions regarding the type of balloon works best(particular brand, store, whatever), I'd be grateful to learn that as well.

Many thanks!

You can buy them from magic stores, http://www.cards4magic.co.uk sell a box of various sizes very cheaply.

Failing that, you can always do what Frank did.

As for the balloons, just get a bag from the party store or similar, it works with them all.
